Default About to try again

About every few years I put in a mamoth effort to loose weight. This has been happening since I was 12. I am 35 and gearing up again. I have lost literally hundreds and the last time I was sure I was going to succeed. I had hit my ideal weight using diet and excersize to loose 90 lbs in about two years. Then, everything in my personal life collapsed (death of parent, divorce, and suddenly becoming a single parent of a baby) and within a few years 90 lbs were back on. It was heartbreaking. Now, after some intensive personal work, here I am on the cusp of another commited effort. After alot (and I mean ALOT) of research I am considering the Fat Flush Plan. I am not keen on the shiny happy hype around it (it makes me nervous) but it is the one low carb plan that speaks to all the elements I feel were missing in my last efforts ie: the emphasis on liver health and the stress factor. The whole food eating plan also appeals to me. Three times I have tried Atkins (1 time) and the Fat Will Make You Thin (2 times) plans but ended up with extreme gallbladder/liver spasm and panic attacks that had my doctors pushing anti-depressents on me. When I began eating (healthy) carbs the panic attacks dissapated and have not recurred. Being a fairly private person, I am hoping that an internet support group will be the key to keeping me sane and focused through this. I am starting a liver cleanse this Wednesday which will translate into the Fat Flush plan on September 13. (I like deadlines, it gives me the space to mentally prepare). I am nervous and afraid of failure but I dont see any option if I want to be the healthy parent and role model I want to be for my son.

Welcome! We all go through bad times, and sometimes they can pretty much make us want to crumble. I've always had a lot of problems when it came to dealing with food and in all honesty being able to find a way of eating that is right for me has helped tremendously on that end. Maybe if you find the right one for you it will give you that much help also. I sure do wish you the best!
