Default Whoosh..

Here's one..
My first week I lost 9 pounds, that was the biggest. Then the week before last I weighed 136, and last Saturday I weighed 132, 4 pounds in a week! Usually, I lose 1-2 pounds a week so those two are my biggest whoosh stories!

Funny you should ask.

I'd been bouncing around in the up 2, down 2 zone for the past 1 1/2 months. I was beginning to think that I wasn't going to lose very wella at all since I'd started in early January 2003 and hadn't had major losses since induction and shortly thereafter.

Then out of the blue--BAM! That very lovely whoosh fairy came by my house and relieved me of 5 pounds in one week, and they haven't been able to sneak back all week long. Hooray!

This is a good story:

I haven't lost any weight for 4 weeks now, BUT - I can not wear any of my old pants anymore or I'll be heading for a huge, embarrasing incident...LOL

I have nearly lost my wedding ring, found it in my bag, couldn't feel how it got there. I'm having it resized.

So - there are inch-whooshes, too! I sure wish you one or two!

After induction I didn't lose any weight for 3 1/2 weeks and then this week I lost 3 lbs., one a day for 3 days. Great boost, but I'm still pretty much staying on induction foods, upping carbs to about 25-28/

I got a mini whoosh last weekend after some helpful advice on this board about tweaking my exercise routine. I added swimming to my cycling and got a visit from the whoosh fairy who kindly took 2lbs with her when she left ! I had been losing and gaining the same 2-4 lbs for months before that!

That's good to hear. I lost a disappointing 2.5 pounds the first week. At my weight, I was certain it would be more like 10.

P.S. Love your alias, spongebutt.

I just had a whoosh myself! I've also been up and down with the same 1lb for a month. Really frustrating and annoying. But, over the weekend, every day I stepped on the scale, I saw weight loss. I couldn't believe it! Friday 192, Saturday 191, Sunday 190, Monday 189. Now that it's Wednesday, I'm still stable at 189lb. Not a huge whoosh, but still a whoosh!

Also, one of the things I started doing that probably helped, is that I got back into going to Curves again. That was two weeks ago.

I should also mention to those waiting for the whoosh fairy like I was, keep talking body measurements. I did, and although I didn't see a huge loss of inches, there was at least a little here and there, especially around my waist. I think that was the only thing that kept me sane

I haven't lost anything for almost 3 weeks now. For awhile there, I was averaging about 1-2 lbs a week. I go to Curves 3 times a week and walk the other 3 for 2.5 miles and pretty much stick to my LC diet. It's getting frustrating! I've been LCing since January and have only lost about 17 lbs and 17" so far. I'm just either a slow loser, or on a really long stall... argh!

3 weeks is not a huge stall. Just be patient and focus on what you're eating. The loss will come again. I've had some stalls of late, but what I discovered was that I'd "stall" for about a month or so and then I'd have a stall for another month. When I looked at it all from a longer viewpoint, I realized that I was loosing 4 or 5 pounds a month, but on a daily basis it seemed like I was stalled.

I sort of had a "woosh" this week. I say sort of because, for some unknown reason, I had gained 4 pounds when I stepped on the scale on Monday morning. (Probably too many peanuts the weekend before...they are my biggest weakness) I was heartsick!!! Well, beginning Monday, I went back to Phase 1 (Curves weight loss plan), and beginning Tuesday, I lost one pound each day this week!! So now I'm back where I was. I'm anxious to see if this wonderful trend continues. I've now gone to Phase 2, so my calories & carbs are upped a little bit. Got my fingers crossed! I go to Curves 5 days a week, and then like to water ski and stuff on the weekends, so I'll keep up the exercise, and see how it goes...wish me luck!!

I was also in a stall but 2 weeks ago I increased the intensity of my exercise program. I lost 5.5 lbs so far. So that is nice. I didnt "woosh" overnight but each day the scale went down .5 to 1 lb. lower.

My most interesting woosh came at a time when, strangely, I was pretty lazy with LCing. I was too lazy to do much cooking, and ended up eating more flax seeds, olive oil, and I had recently discovered avocados. Now, of course, I firmly believe that there's nothing wrong with eating eggs and meat liberally, but I think what I stumbled on was that it's important to get a VARIETY of fats. It's really easy to fall into the eggs-and-beef rut, when you should be throwing those omgea-3 PUs and monounsaturates in there, too.
