Default why, why, why, why, why..........

I think it's official - I'm stalled.

6 weeks on Atkins. The first two weeks, I dropped 12 lbs. The following two weeks, I dropped another 3. Since then, nothing. At first, everyone here told me that a stall at three weeks is normal. But now, it seems like I just can't budge! If I lose 1/2 lb, it's right back there the next day (and telling me to weigh only once a week is no good.....there still wouldn't be much/any difference week to week). I'm keeping my carbs low, fat reasonably high, calories low, I walk for 1:15 every second day and golf twice a week. I'm taking OoO.....that's what jump-started the 3 lb loss, but it's done nothing since (though maybe my insides are cleaner).

If you're going to try and console me with an invitation to check my inch loss, don't bother.....hardly a change at all there, either.

Sorry to vent, but I'm so freaking frustrated this morning, I don't know what to do. I totally thought that by July, I'd be at 70% of my goal.....not going to happen.

I feel your pain. I think everybody here does. The only advice I have is adding some free weights. I have been dealing with pregnancy weight and 'advanced age' and Atkins hasn't thrown the weight off me like it used to. Adding the weight training and doing interval cardio training has made a big difference. This way of eating works for me as I'm a complete sugar addict but sometimes it needs a boost. With the extra muscle you'll fine the weight start to creep down.

By the way, I'm not a musclehead - I'm talking light 5-10 lb weights three times a week.

Hope this helps,
Catherine

Try posting a few days worth of menus maybe we can spot a quick problem that could be stalling you.

I've been stalled for awhile w/ no inch loss either. I work out all of the time, dont have cheat days, keep my carbs b/t 20-25. I drink a lot of water, take supplements. I have no idea what to do really. I'm trying to up my exercise routine and adding weights but I'm not sure if its working. My plan is to stick to what I've been doing b/c I figured if what I was doing before was working then I must have been doing something right.

I stalled forever, then I tried upping my fat to 80% and I didn't worry about the cals too much, I was at about 1800/day. Dropped 2 lbs over night. Some people have to worry about cals so you could also try lowering them... I would try going with the high fat first though.

make sure your calories in line based on your BMR. Low could be too low especially if you are working out. Just a though.

Thanks, ladies!

Catherine - I just ordered "Slim in 6", so hopefully that will provide me with the strength training that my body might be needing. I can't possibly imagine how to fit more exercise in my life, but dammit, I'm going to try!

Meggen - going to try to figure out how to link fitday into my sig, so that when I whine, bitch and moan, people can reply with knowledge!

libra - you reminded me that I could do a little better on water. Thanks!

Pandora - maybe I have to play with my calories - up or down. I have a feeling it'll be up though. Don't think I'm eating too many as it is. And as for fat, I'm currently eating about 6-7 tablespoons of olive oil a day, in addition to whatever fat there is in cheese and meat. On Fitday it sure looks like a hell of a lot!

omgiam30 (LMAO at your nicky) - thanks for the kind words. Yep, I realize that I could definitely have bigger battles, but I am frustrated, nonetheless. And I totally took your post as encouragement. Thanks so much

scrap girl - hmm....never knew how many I needed. Where can I find that? On Fitday?

I think I'm going to try drastic measures for two weeks and see what happens. Something like nothing to eat but chicken, cucumbers, water and mayo for 2 weeks - that oughta' kick me in the butt!

Thanks again, girls!
