Default GAAAHHHHHH I'm screwing this up. (& protien shake question)

4 weeks on induction, and I've lost... 4 lbs. Now, I know my body is beginning to shape differently - my tummy & middle are smaller. I've never measured but I'm sure an inch or two around the middle is gone as my clothes are fitting better and I can just see it in the mirror.

But I should have lost more than that. AND it's my own fault. No excersize! Not enough water at all lately! Not eating enough!

Yesterday was particularly bad... 1 cup of coffee, burger w/no bun or ketchup, 1 salad... I plugged it into fitday and had a whopping total of 3 net carbs and 206 calories.

It's so busy for us now - the minute we get home from work / school, it's straight out to the neighborhood pool - my 10 yr old is a mermaid (I check for emerging gills daily) and it's too cold for me to swim, so I sit there (I have to be with her). Dinner is easy or something picked up - by the time I could cook something, it's very late so we grab salads etc. I'm not a morning person so getting up early to excersize had just not happened.

Today I'm going to try to eat more, much more. A trip to the grocery immediately after work to stock up (cupboard is bare). Will be GUZZLING water. I figure the lack of water's got to be the worst point, with not enough food coming in 2nd.

2 questions:
Who uses protein shakes? What kind do you like? Benefits? Worries (ie stalls?)??? I'm thinking that something like this might help me pack on the protien and calories. Any other quick ideas? Mornings are a nightmare so I could have this at work.

Keto shakes are the best! No funny taste at all, only 1-2 carbs, and a good ammount of fat in them. Sometimes I make a special batch for the freezer and have great little pops with all 6 of them together only having 1 carb. Using the Hood carb countdown milk to mix with makes a creamier pop but ups the carbs a bit. Cappucino + Carbcountdown choc milk frozen... YUM!

My son loves the Keto shakes too, and I never feel bad about making him a "milkshake" with Keto powder and frozen fruit. His favorite "milkshake".... Banana Cream with frozen bluberries.

=)

Well needless to say, I woke up this morning STARVING. First time in a long while I can remember even being hungry. After dropping daughter off at school, I ran to the grocery - got a salad for lunch, some pepperoni bites, and some Atkins shakes. I've never had them before, I'm a little leary of them. Label check shows no sugar alcohols, so I bought a box.

Not bad. I think I'm going to have to do shakes to suppliment when I just don't have time (or forget / don't care) to eat. I need to be ingesting, something every 3 or 4 hours, I figure. I'm really dissapointed that I haven't lost more, but it's my own fault. At least I feel so much better!

I cook when I can, stuff that I can heat up & nosh on. The biggest problem is that I won't eat leftover / reheated meats. Especially chicken They have to be in casseroles or whatever. So I can't just heat up a chicken breast. Blech.

If you use the carb countdown milk like flwrfrog suggested the shakes are really filling, like a milkshake. I stay full for a while after drinking one.

I love the Designer Whey Protein Powder shakes I make. It has wonderful flavor with no aftertaste. I have one each day as a meal replacement. The custumization and variations are limited only by your imagination. It is so easy to custom make one in the blender using what I like, is in season or have the carb allowance for. They freeze beatifully into popsicles or fudgesicles. I have the chocolate, strawberry and french vanilla in the 5 lb tub. I bake regularly with it and use it in my hot cereal. After daily use for a good three months now, I've not noticed any stall. I'm sure that I've not stalled because of the protein powder.

There are many wonderful ideas for protein powder shakes and other uses that you can avail yourself of by using the search function.
