Thumbs up Real Low Carb Crackers!

Just got these to try yesterday.

Nice to see someone using organic, whole food to make a new low carb product.

They are called Organic Golden Flax Crackers, from a family startup in Indiana called FoodsAlive.com. They taken organic golden flax seeds, crush them, soak them, flavor them, and dehydrate them into a thin cracker sheet. No frying, no baking, and no animal products. Pure vegan.

6 flavors, all low carb because they are almost pure flax seeds. Give it a look at their website:

Hmmm, well, I am sure that it depends on your, uh, taste.

Personally, I think that the Italian Zest, the Mexican Harvest, and the Onion Garlic flavors taste as good, or better than many other snack crackers. The Regular taste pretty blah, a lot like dehydrated flax seeds (go figure!), but they are nice and crunchy, have great essential fatty oil content, and lots of high quality fiber. And the dips taste just as good on these as dips taste on other, high carb crackers.

The Maple Cinnamon flavor does not appeal to me at all, and I won't be getting anymore of those.

I can't tell you about the Carob flavor because my wife took them with her to her seminar today, and I doubt I will ever get a taste.

Are you more interested in healthy, real food snacks, or frankenfood flavors with all the bells and whistles, and the high carbs??

I think that's for hardcore vegan/rawfoodists who happen to cut carbs. I stick with the bulk flaxseed that I can get bulk for 1.20$ a pound.

Well Im thinking they likely dont ship to canada...and...I have a dehydrator...and...since my son is allergic to eggs, I use ground flax meal goup as a substitute so I have some of that too. I think I'll do a little experimenting

what i wonder is if plain flax which seems to have as much fibre as carbs is basically a free food?

Im confused on that one
