Default 5 month stall - help!

I have been staying between 20-40 carbs a day and excersing 4X a week, cardio and weights - no weight loss or inches lost! I read an article in Fitness magazine that if you are excersing you need a min. of 120 carbs a day....has anyone found this to be true?

I've lost 50 lbs since April 2003....I just need to lose 20 more or 2 pants sizes.

I'm thinking about joining WW or seeing a nutrionist.

Did I mention I have had no cheats in 13 months - why am I not losing??

Is there any reason your doing more than 20 carbs? Maybe you should go back to Induction levels again to jump start your loss and see if that works.

Maybe a short Atkins Fat Fast would do the trick:

Maybe you should join the June KISS challenge for a jumpstart.

Check out this article from Doreen,

http://www.lowcarb.ca/tips/tips008.html

also I recently started using Oil of Oregano and I found it really helps. For more info on that there are a couple threads just search and you will find lots of info.

Above all else stick with it, this too shall pass.

Sandy

Im in the same boat you are. I keep my carb level between 20-25 a day, calories vary from 1300-1700 a day, I work out 4-5x per week w/ cardio and some weights and havent lost any inches or pounds either. Ive tried kiss, I cut out most of my aspartame, I was eating sugar alcohols but stopped for the most part. The only thing I can think of doing is going back to exactly what I ate for the first two weeks, but the problem is that I've been at induction the entire time. The only thing I add every now and then are pb, peanuts, low carb yogurt, sf chocolate, and I just bough keto cereal. Hmm, after listing those maybe I should seriously cut every bit of them out for another two weeks to see if that was the cause....I think I'll try it.

I'm going to swim against the tide here, with my advice. If you are not eating way more calories than you expend, then I suggest you up the carbs and the calories for a week or two. See what happens. You can always cut back if you get no results.

I've had more slowdowns attributed to not enough calories and carbs than I have to too many of either or.

Sometimes adding more "good" carbs can also help especially if your exercising....i found when i stuck at induction range i was not losing but...since upping my carbs i am now losing again...seems like ur body might be getting used to it...also try changing ur eating habits....for example the times you eat or the amout of meals u eat (instead of 3...have 4 or 5 or even 6 smaller meals a day). Oil of oregano also worked for me and make sure u are taking a suppliment as well.

the only thing that helps me through stalls is decreasing my calories, and increasing my exercise. Try doing cardio 7 days a week, and weights every other day.
