well, i haven't lost enough to notice, but i'm looking forward to:

full hugs from my wife (oh, and intimacy without a big belly in the way!)

wearing smaller clothes (not having to feel awful when i can't find anything to fit me anywhere)

getting compliments

looking sexy to my wife

being comfortable in all the situations where i am uncomfortable now

well, that's just a few added to all of the others posted here!!!

This is just the post I needed to start my day off right. So inspirational.

I feel empowered by exercise now and not terrified that i can't do the moves. (ok... so i still pick the easier moves on my exercise videos,... but at 273 even they were very very challenging)

i like seeing the changes in my body. i almost like looking at myself naked now. (ok it still looks pretty gross, but so much is going on under all the clothes! with the exercise that i've been doing i can actually see muscles in places!)

i like people noticing that i've lost weight.

i like having more energy (on occation, lol)

and i like meat!

Great thread, Val!

I like being thinner because...

I can go into Old Navy and grab a size 12 and know that it will fit.
I do not stick out in crowds anymore.
I can sleep more comfortably in the car (road trip!).
I can sit more comfortably in chairs, especially theater seats.
I have more shoe options; I am no longer a 10w.
I can join my friends in sport activities.
I enjoy going to the pool now.
I can see myself being active and no longer laugh at my fitness goals.
I am more interested in being intimate with my partner.
I am more interested in femme-girly things.
I am more willing to take a chance or a risk.

Paris

What I like:
Being able to put on socks/hose without my gut getting in the way
Getting noticed again - before I was invisible
Wearing tighter blouses that show I have a waist again

I can get my socks on without passing out! (I don't wear socks often -- I wear Birkies most of the time -- and had taken to asking my kids to put them on when I had to.)

On the extremely rare occassion when panty hose are called for, I can wear one of the Llegg's sizes and have them get all the way UP!

Default Why I Like Being Thinner

Hmmm...sounds a bit like the 'what I did over summer vacation' essays
my teachers used to have us write at the start of each school year

I've only just started on my journey to the thinner me, but here is what
I am *really* looking forward to about being thinner:

a. not having to worry about whether or not the movie theater we're
going to has stadium steating (to accomodate my big butt)

b. not having to worry about whether or not I can fit into a booth at
a restaurant

c. having my hubby *want* me again (he loves me, but the *want* factor
is gone -- not that I blame him...I look horrendous at the moment)

d. watch hubby's eyes bug out the first time I put on some sexy little number

e. being able to go on the rides when we take our kids to disney, seaworld,
etc...

f. not worrying about 'oh my god...am I going to break this chair if I sit in
it' (I've done this -- TWICE -- once was the first xmas I spent at my
then-not-yet-my-mother-in-law's house [thank goodness the char was
old and she thought it just gave way of it's own accord] and the other
was a wooden chair at my own house

g. getting a new bed and not worrying about creating a crater on my side

I could go on and on...

Hugs and way to go everybody!

Cynthia

I feel like going outside.

I am not as ashamed anymore as I once was, of who and what I am. I notice things a lot more.

I can go for a walk.

I don't have to use my cane all the time.

I can stand for a couple of hours when working and not have to have bar stool to sit on because my knees won't work. Marty

Great Thread Val! I've loved reading everyone's posts.

My turn:

I love fitting into clothes that I have saved from when I was thinner. It is motivating to get into something I outgrew two years ago. I wear something new almost every day!

My DBF is VERY supportive and has ALWAYS said that my weight doesn't matter to him. BUT I love it when he notices my loss or a change in my body. "Baby, I think your butt is shrinking!"

To cast the anchor on our boat, you have to climb up on the dash, through the door on the windshield and out on top of the cutty cabin to get to the front of the boat. Currently I can not do this but it is one of the things I look forward to being able to do soon.

Moving the seat in my truck closer to the steering wheel, as I no longer sit on a monstah booty

My feet don't hurt when I get out of bed in the morning.

I need a new bathing suite, because the one I bought last year is falling off of my butt.

Yesterday my son (16) poked me in the tummy and said "Getting skinny Mom"

I love feeling healthier, feeling good about what I eat, clearer skin, having muscles, ease of activity and feeling normal.

What I like about being thinner is, I had not been able to wear my wedding ring , I could get it on but my finger would swell and I would be scared I would never get it off, now it actually twirls on my finger!
Same with my watch, couldn't stand to wear it for any length of time, now I forget to take it off before getting in the shower, I've only lost 27 pounds and I've been doing this all year but I've cut my insulin in half.
My next goal is to be able to sit indian style on the floor, I can get down there now but my knees stay up in the air, but someday soon I WILL do this.

Great thread I have been reading it and thinking for a while on what would mean the most to me. I haven't lost a whole lot YET but already there is some great stuff:

~ More Energy
~ Feeling in control of my life again
~ Legs/feet not swelling so much
~ PCOS already getting better!!!!
~ Feeling like I am treating myself well
~ Knowing I am on the road to good health!

Great thread, should always be bumped

So, so many things that I am thankful for! Just last night my family went out to eat and I nearly cried when I realized that I wasn't the heaviest person in the room. I love it when my 14 year old son hugs me and says I'm just the "tiniest little ol' thing" ( yes, it's an over statement, but I'll take it!) I LOVE shopping in the regular size department. I'm so thankful that my back doesn't constantly hurt. DH is happy that I don't snore like a buzzsaw anymore!

So many big & small things that make me determined never to turn back!

I love how well I fit into all kinds of seats lately--in planes, theaters, and behind the steering wheel. My cat likes to snuggle next to me in an armchair rather than on my lap and I think she is confused that there is now considerably more room!

Also, I used to dread having a fellow large person sit next to me the theater because we would both be cramped...now I can generously make room for my seat mate if he or she needs it .
