Default question on Ketostix

Hi, newbie here, so sorry if this subject has been discussed to death in the past.....when do you test with ketostix and how often? I test first thing in the morning and only that one time each day. Is there a better time of day? Thanks!

For one day after you stick absolutely strictly to the LC plan, test in AM & PM and even after meals. See when YOU test highest. Then do it then but only once a day.

You'll probably soon get tired of testing and the $$$ they cost. Those stix aren't very accurate so don't get hung up if they show trace or negative when you KNOW you've stayed with the LC eating.

I test in the evening, and it's really just for peace of mind. Jag and others say that keto stix really registered about three days after whatever you've eaten, so I guess if I eat something that I'm not sure about, I make sure it didn't kick me out of keto.

Just some cautions when doing this ...

Besides not touching the little pad on the end of the stick with your fingers, you also need to make sure that your hands, the work surface and your room environment are DRY. Even 5 or 10 minutes exposure to humidity in the air can decompose and inactivate the chemical reagent in the pad. Try to work quickly and be sure to keep the container tightly capped in between ... might be best to just cut a few at a time.

hth,

Doreen

I test in the morning, I find that works best for me. I guess you just have to experiment and figure out what'll work for you! And don't overtest, it can drive you nuts... I guess it's more important in the beginning... I've been lc-ing so long now that a lot of times it stays white, but I'm losing pounds/inches. What's with that??
