Unhappy Did I miss something with the fat intake...

I guess I might be missing something. I've upped my fats and still gained a pound. I run after work about 4-5 times a week and I've been eating a whole black avocado for lunch along with grilled chicken. For snacks I've been doing pecans (no more left and won't eat anymore for a while) mac nuts and bacon and cheese. Do I need to cut the cheese Cause I will, but it's so good (smoky swiss and cheddar Kraft)
I feel good, not hungry at all, but I'm starting to wonder if I've missed some important point. Oh ya, I have spinach (about 2-3 cups) for dinner and take vitamins....and drink lots of coffee and 1 diet coke a day...and 64-96 oz water a day....HELP!

The only idea I can offer is that in upping your fat maybe you have also really increased your calories. (I know it seems really hard not to do both!) A whole avocado (which DANDR limits to half of pne per day), cheese, and nuts are very dense sources of calories. That's why DANDR limits them. Maybe cut back a bit on these?

The other thing might be water retention for salt -- bacon, nuts and cheese can have significant salt. Or your TOM?

Or it might be muscle gain from your exercise.

Just some ideas! What does fitday say?

Good advice...I left the avacado home today and only eating mac nuts. I did have some cheese and bacon as well and I can see that I might need to cut them out all together and focus on butter/cream/and other fat sources. I'm not exactly doing a great job with fitday. I record some but not all I eat. I'll get better tho...thanks!

I also want to say that with only 22 pounds left to lose (way to go!) you might see a slowdown ANYWAY...I found that I liked to used Fitday for a month to get an idea of where my percentages & stuff were...I know it's a hassle typing everything in, but it's worth it. And then you have a better idea of where your percentages & calories are.

Believe me, eyeballing it doesn't work.

You don't say over what period of time you gained a pound. I know for myself, my weight will fluctuate by 2 or 3 pounds per week for no apparent reason. I suspect that most of it is just water, for whatever reason.

I had to cut cheese almost altogether in order to get the fat in without upping my cals too much. I don't eat any other nuts other than mac nuts. Not only are nuts a trigger food but they tend to cause more cravings for me.

I get my fat from oil/butter/heavy cream.
