Unhappy Newbie that needs lots of support

Hi, my name is Selena. I weight 257. My goal is 150. I know that alot of you have way more to loose and have lost some already and I just want to give you a way to go! I am so happy to hear all the success that you have had!

So on to the reason that I need so much support. I have been trying to loose this weight since I was 21. That was 5 years ago. I am tired of being over weight, but somehow I stop myself from allowing to do it. I think it is because my only support system has always been my husband. If I tell anyone else what I am doing then they judge me.

Ok, so I am starting today. Breakfast was 2 peices of bacon 2 slices of cheese. I have never been able to have eggs because they make my stomach hurt, but I am going to try on this diet because soo many of you saly that it helps. I am also going to drink alot of water.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome Selena:

Congratulations on getting started with this great way of life. I hope you will get as much out of the forum as I do. Like you, it feels kind of isolating at times since most people I know are sure that Atkins will kill me in the end . I have lost 40 pounds and feel better than I have in YEARS. Hey you don't have to eat any eggs if you don't want to. There is nothing on Atkins that you HAVE to eat except your fat and veggies. Oh and drinking water . But really, if you dislike something there is no reason for you to feel like you have to eat it. That is part of what is so great about it. Take care!

I am allergic to egg whites, but can eat the yolks. Yolks and water make a decent scrambled eggs! Also, i recently discovered quail eggs, at a local ethnic supermarket. They are canned, of all things, and I read that people allergic to chicken eggs may tolerate them. I have done fine so far with them. In fact, they have no carbs. . .so I plan to use them as well as chicken egg yolks. They are cooked in the canning process and make good egg salad!

Selena,
I just wanted to let you know that my favorite breakfast is leftover dinner from the night before---chicken breasts, meatloaf, some kind of stew--whatever! I love to have a good serving of protein early in the day. Think outside the breakfast box .
Good luck and I'll see you around the forum.
