Question Can I lose 20lbs in 1 and 1/2 months???

I have my wedding in 1 and 1/2 months!!! I am starting induction and have been doing good so far, although I did slip over the weekend.

How did everyone do the first month they were on induction? I need some inspiring words!!

Thanks!

Low carb isn't a quick weight loss plan. BUT , if you stick to a low-carb plan you will lose something (about 10% of your excess weight during induction) and you'll look tighter, feel better, sleep better and be healthier than you would be before low-carb.

However, YMMV - some have steady loss, some lose in fits and spurts. Low carb isn't a quick weight loss plan. Most people experience the "post induction stall" where their loss "pauses" for a week or two. You can keep things moving along with drinking water and exercise.

I lost 20lbs in my first 3 weeks... but I didn't cheat AT ALL and exercised every day.

It just depends. Every person is different. If you want to do Atkins (as any way of eating) you need to make the commitment to do it long term.

There is a very strong possibility that you could lose that amount in 6 weeks.

You have to stick to Induction the entire time however. Really ... outside of a time here or there I have stuck to Induction level carbs the entire time.

The more you have to lose, it seems the faster you lose it.

You have to be faithful to the way of eating, exercising and water consumption.

There are no guarantees about amount of weight in given amount of time, but the health benefits are tremendous.

Besides weight, you may drop the inches required to feel comfortable in the outfit you wish to wear.

I agree, everyone is different. Also when you start setting expectations, murphy's law seems to come around and you don't meet your goal and you get discouraged. I did loose 19 lbs in the first month (not sure how much in 6 weeks but it was more than 20), however, I seemed to loose REALLY fast in the beginning. Not sure if you'll be like that too. One thing is for sure, you WILL loose in the first 6 weeks and that's progress.
