After experiencing severe congestion and developing a cough I went to my doctor whose diagnosis was "Upper Respiratory Infection". I was prescribed the antibiotic "Zithromax" (azithromycin) which I have been taking for 2 days now.

I developed this condition 1 week after beginning the Adkin's Induction Diet.

Should I continue my LC diet while taking this medication? Will the antibiotic be less effective with my increased water consumption? Anybody have any experience with antibiotics while LCing?

I did not tell my doctor I had adopted the Adkin's WOE. Perhaps I should have. Any help anybody could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. dankar

I'm not a health professional, but I've done lots of research to find a healthy lifestyle that works. Sometimes, what seems like a cold is merely your body saying "Oh good - now I can clean out all that junk and garbage stored my cells!" It's called detoxification and it can happen when you have made positive changes that your body likes. It is a very good thing, but not always pleasant to go through.

A change of diet could certainly do it.

I don't know if this is what you are experiencing. Please don't take my word for it. But if it is, be glad.

Anyone taking antibiotics should also take acidolphilus to protect the good organisms in your intestines. You could phone your local health food store and ask about it.
