Happy Mother's Day! I'm glad I found this site because I have some questions about ATKINS and it's always good to get support from people who are walking in the same shoes I am.

A little history: FAT all my life--unhealthy, smoker, drinker, horrible diet, never enough sleep. I changed that about 2 years ago and the results have been incredible. I've lost 55 pounds and have kept it off. I've gained healthy lean tissue by lifting weights, stopped smoking, drink rarely, and finally love clothes shopping.

Still, I have about 20 more I want to lose and I've been on a plateau for the better part of a year although I keep losing inches here and there. I finally decided to try atkins and have got the scales moving again on the induction phase. I do believe that I'm metabolically resistant to losing weight, will probably always fight it, and am probably insulin resistant.

I'd love some advice, to be a part of this community, to find support and to give encouragement to others.

Thanks for listening.
