For some reason there is this bacon at my local store that has NO carbs or sugar, and tastes great. Smokey and sweet even. It is very inexpensive also.

I buy No-Name bacon at my store--it's the cheapest, and it is the only one that doesn't have carbs in it. It's very tasty!

Best of luck in this new WOL!

Bacon carbs depend on how it's processed. Many are hickory smoked (or use a similar process) and contain no carbs. Others utilize sugar to promote a sweeter flavor (for instance maple flavored bacon etc). Just check the ingredients...find one without sugar, and enjoy! (watch out for sweeteners in sausages too...alot of them process with sugar)

HG, re: sugar in bacon. Food manufacturers can get away with saying something is 0 carbs if it is less than one carb per serving. If your bacon says 0 carbs on the label, then count it as 1 carb per serving to be on the safe side. Sausage is the same way a lot of times. This is what I have done since I started on LC and it has worked for me.

Talking At GF's

Had a mongo huge salad for lunch and 3 pork chops (killed the package off and hey gotta love foreman grills) and a half gallon of water

tonight me and my lady are having stuff she cooked for us

we start with a tossed anchovie salad

then blue fish stuffed with shrimp

and cauliflower au gratin

and for dessert we are eating each other...followed by a series of specialized calesthenics i like to call rapid hip thrusts in forward motion repeated until maxing out.

Then I will go home and if I am still hungry I will polish off a plate of chicken and greens before bed.

anyway we are going to have a lotttttt of fun

If you soak the pound of bacon in a pan of cold water overnight in the fridge
it gets rid of the salt, sugar and nitrates in it. Pan fry as usual.

Thumbs up Day Two

I tried it and it works..I hope. I am on day two and feeling fine.

I woke up and had mommy over for brunch and my girlfriend and her mommy

We had between the 4 of us a pound of bacon, a dozen poached eggs a tossed salad salmon with tartar sauce (my gf's recipe) and water fopr me and her and champagne for the mommies.

Each mommy had 2 poached eggs gf had 4 and I had 4.

This was yummy

I made a chicken and brocolli casserole with cheese for dinner and will have that along with water and a salad.

question...

diet vanilla coke has aspartane in it not sugar and has zero calories and zero carbs...can I have it?

I am really enjoying low carbing and no side effects not even ones from going off alcohol. I just eat when I am hungry (always always and always) and hope that eventually i will not be hungry anymore

Happy Muddahs Day to all de muddahs out dere!

The best kinda dessert!

Coming off alcohol, you are gonna have some sugar cravings....I know that some people advise against sf jello but, in your case, I think you should have some on hand in case. Better that than grab for a beer or drink.

as far as aspartmae, some people are sensitive and some are not. I'm not. Try it and if if you find you are not losing, kick that too.

One day at a time...one day at a time!

You are doing great...keep it up!

Talking Day 3 and 4

Yesterday was Day 3

I had 2 poached eggs on canadian bacon for breakfast with a few glasses of water and a half an avacado

for lunch I had a tossed salad and a cheeseburger and a diet vanilla coke (zero carbs zero calories)

and for dinner I had 3 pieces of chicken and a salad and some water

No snacks

before bed I had 2 glasses of water with psillium husks in it and this morning voila my problem is cured

This is the morning and afternoon of day 4

I had scrambeld eggs with paprika for breakfast and bacon on the side and lots of water.

for lunch I have a hard boiled egg and some corned beef and cabage (no taters in it for the first time in my life) and a diet vanilla coke

for dinner I plan to have a huge salad and maybe a slab of the corned beef

This is really working. I feel great. I'll keep up with the psillium husks
