Sorbitol is a Sugar Alcohol. Unlike Maltitol and its derivatives [Maltitol Syrup, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, and Polyglycitol Syrup,] Sorbitol is lower Glycemic...But, some folks still can't handle it very well. So, its a YMMV situation. Polydextrose is a Carbohydrate [not a Sugar Alcohol] which was until recently believed to partially absorbed [< 25%] by some folks, though some studies have now found that it acts like fiber in most folks [not aborbed at all.] For this reason, I consider it a Dietary Fiber and attribute 0 kcal to it. But, you can call it whatever you want.
