Thanks to those that gave me an invite to this club. Finally I get picked by a team!!

Lets see, a little about myself:
I am a college student, I will graduate with my Bachelor's degree in Political Science this August and am returning in the fall to pursue my Master's in International Politics. Eventually I plan to become a professor in my field. I live in Ohio and am originally from El Paso Texas.
My interests include politics of course, golf (even though I play at it rather than playing it), I love football, reading, movies, FOOD, model rail roading and wood working.
My dieting history has been one of herculean effort followed by abject failure. I got down to 297 pounds using Richard Simmons Deal A Meal only to gain it back + 25 extra for my trouble. To put it bluntly, I am on this diet because I do want to die young. I am building a nice future for myself and want to be around long enough to enjoy it. I also have what I consider to be a very dynamic personality, wonderful facial features and nice hair. I have NEVER gotten the opportunity to enjoy the blessings of the nice attributes I have.

Anyway, enough about me. I look forward to sharing success stories, providing a virtual shoulder to cry on when necessary and making some friends and comrades in smaller arms.

Welcome to the TDC! It's always great to see another Buckeye on the boards.

Congratulations on your weight lost so far. This way of eating really does work and the folks here in the TDC are very supportive.

And yes, doesn't it feel good to get picked. Just think of all the folks who will pick us when we get thin! Woohoo! Something else to look forward to.

I know what you mean. The strange thing is I was never all that reactive to carbs until I tried the Simmons diets. After that I would have a binge just looking at carbohydrates. Wow, 32 pounds so far for you, congratulations.

Cicero, welcome! That's so great you're doing International Politics. I'm an International Affairs major. Going a slightly different route than you though. IA with a minor in marketing. Major concentration is Int'l business, economics, and policy. Then off to grad school for marketing.

Glad to see someone else studying something similar though. Welcome again!

Welcome!!! I am also a new member of this board. The support and encouragement given by members here is wonderful!! At age 55 I have finally decided that the weight will not go away by itself and I have to do something! I have been doing Atkins for about 7 weeks and have lost 20 lbs. so far. I have quite a way to go and need all the encouragement I can get.
Good luck to you. Whenever you feel the need, come to the forum and read the posts. They help give me the will to stick to my diet.
