Default Wheat Nuts

I found this little goodie at the grocery store today! It is made with wheat germ and milk protein, and 4g net carbs per 1/3 cup, which translates to 1 carb per tablespoon. I am going to put them in my salads instead of sunflower seeds and croutons (not that I was using croutons or anything), and mixed with my Atkins cereal and flaxmeal. The only drawback is they are made with partially hydrogenated soybean oil, but in such a small amount, I think it is ok.

I use soy nuts a lot of times for salads I love the way the crunch and taste. They are 150 calories for 3 TBL / 8 fat/sodium 100mg/ 11 carbs/ 5 fiber/ 11 protein. So they would only be 50 calories/ 2 net carbs per tablespoon. Not a bad crouton substitute. The ingredients on the label are roasted soybeans, sunflower oil, citric acid, salt.
