Default Legs Throbbing???

I have been on adkins for about 2 months now, with great results!! When I first started I had terrible leg cramps - so I started taking vitamins. Now my legs will throb in spots - kinda hard to explain. Almost like it's getting ready to have one of those really bad cramps.

Does anyone know what this is???? I take a multi vitamin plus additional Magnesium. It drives me insane!!!

Ditto ItzMe:
It may sounds funny but I have all teh sympthoms most folks are complaining about since starting low carbing. I never correlated them with low carbing. I do take multi, calcium/magnesium, and a bunch of other supplements and eat more vegetables and fruit in general. Ive adjusted my fat intake and my weight started coming off again. This legs throbbing is very annoying and kinda scary. Thanks for posting this, I feel better than I'm not alone. My health in general went down hill since I've started low carbing, but the worst was on ketosis. I also have tingling all over my body, sometimes I feel like 1000 ants are crawling under my skin. I suspect it may be some nerve damage due to lack of certain vitamins and minerals, may be B-group. even if we take supplements, it's not the same as when body manufactures it from food.
I'll try to add B-complex and see if this condition will improve.
Cheers,
Dina

Try some good calf stretches a few times a day - and some calf exercises to strengthen them. The stretching keeps them flexible and should make them less prone to cramping, from what I understand. Good luck - sounds very uncomfortable.

My legs have been really restless feeling for the past week or so... I haven't been getting any cramps lately, but I definitely feel like I want my legs to keep moving whenever I'm laying down. I think it's a combination of being in a heavy keto and not getting enough exercise. It'll pass.

I have the same thing. My calves want to cramp up and when they do it is really painful. I also get that wobbly throb you speak of...just like it wants to cramp and go into a charlie horse.
Some advice has been calcium and potassium supplements. I can not take too much of each but a little bit seems to help.

Default Potassium!!

Boy, this sounds like low potassium to me! I get all twitchy when I'm low. It's just started to be warm enough that I'm drinking way more water and K+ is easily washed out. I use a sprinkle of lite salt on everything as a way of keeping the level up, and take a few of the supplement pills when I'm really working up a sweat. (Right now, in April, I don't feel the sweat because the humidity is low but I'm still losing potassium.)

Quinine will relieve this problem instantly. You can buy it in pill form at Walmart. It's called "Leg Cramps with Quinine" and it comes in a really small bottle. Take 2 tablets, and if the cramps don't go away, take 2 more.

Make sure you are using a product called "no salt" on your food, because cramps are due to low potassium levels. Warning: If you are on blood-pressure meds DO NOT USE salt substitutes because these types of meds hold onto potassium in the body, and you can have serious complications.

ave you plugged all your food into Fitday (including supplements ) ?

It could be a Vitamin Overdose !

Vitamin B6 - Too much vitamin B6 can result in nerve damage to the arms and legs;

That's just the one I remember. But I am sure there was one which caused cramps and muscle twitches when overdosing.
