Default Atkins Pancakes

Does anyone else here think these things taste like dirty butt? They are so gross. The only way I can even tolerate them is if i smother them in Carey's Sugar Free syrup and eat sausage along with every bite.

I tried making pizza out of these things and they don't get crispy. Just soggy. Yuck.

I agree yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck!
I made them once and haven't touched the stuff since. I've found better substitues for much less cash. They were waste of money

Well, call me crazy, cause I love them!! There are two different mixes. One is just plain Pancake and Waffle Mix, the other is Buttermilk Pancake and Waffle Mix Deluxe. The deluxe is great! Tastes alot like buckwheat pancakes.

Which one did you use?

I think that the Atkins pancakes are better when made with one less egg than the box calls for. It keeps them from being so eggy.

I agree that the pancake and waffle mix is yuck.
I just bought the butermilk this weekend, was hoping it would be a bit better. I sure do miss my pancakes.

Well, it took a while searching (there's got to be an easier way!) and found:

Flax pancakes - makes one large
2 tbsp flaxmeal
2 tbsp soy flour
1 tbsp heavy cream
1 tbsp flavored syrup
1 egg
cinammon to taste

Mix it all up and let it sit about 5 minutes. Cook in a buttered or oiled pan - it fluffs up like a real pancake and has a lovely nutty flavour. Top with butter and SF syrup.

I just found another one.

http://atkinsbythebook.com/cgi-bin/...kfast+Favorites

Recipe Name
Flaxmeal pancakes high fiber
Posted by 2BIG4MYSIZE Serves: 1
NetCarbs: about 3 without spice
Prep Time: 12 min
Occasion: Any
Effort: Easy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ingredients:
1/4 cup flaxmeal
1/2t baking powder
1/2 t of your favorite spice if desired
1T oil I use EV oilive oil 1 large egg
1T cream
1T sour cream
water if needed to thin about 1T

How to Prepare:
1)mix dry ingredients in a bowl
2) add egg, oil, sour cream, and cream.
3)stir and let sit 10 min to develope. thin with water if needed
4) spoon into greased hot skillet
5)cook on low 4 min a side.

They both look yummy. But this recipe wants you to let it sit for 10 minutes, wow that's a long time when your hungry. LOL

Thanks so much Ziggy.

Deana
