Default Daily Menu Thread 11/9

Post your daily menus here.

Plan: Atkins
Phase: Post Induction
Variation: I try to eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day (every 2-3 hours)

Meal One: Carbolite pancake with carbolite syrup and butter

I find the Carbolite zero carb bake mix too dry and the Carbolite low carb bake mix too high in carbs so I mix them in either 1:1 ratio or 2:1 ratio depending on what I plan for the rest of the day. If I want more carbs later on, I'll go with the 2:1 ratio with the zero carb being the 2. I add imitation vanilla extract (no corn syrup), water, cinnamon and dash of cream

Meal Two: Egg Salad in Celery Stalks

Meal Three: Tuna Salad on a bed of lettuce and tomato

Meal Four: Steak and green beans (portion: steak: palm size, beans, fist size)

Meal Five: Ceasar salad with baby shrimp

Meal Six: Egg custard. Use standard egg custard recipe but substitute cream and water for milk and Splenda for sugar.

Default Keto Shake?

Hi!

Could you please tell me what a Keto Shake is and where did you find it?

Does it fix those "chocolate" cravings??

Thanks

Default This thread is menus only.

http://www.lifeservices.com/ezStore...=3_1_1_0_0_1_81

also available at carbsmart.com

We are trying hard to make a thread of menu listing only here.
Thanks.
Isn't there a low carb product thread?

If you are still in Induction, beware Keto shakes. I use shakes and bars sparingly even outside of induction. When you are out of induction you might want to try some carbolite chocolate bars. I find that when I am really craving chocolate, (during PMS) 2 squares will do it. Some people have a stall reaction to malitol (sugar alcohol) but it doesn't affect me that much or I eat such small amounts, it's okay.

I was hoping that some Q&A about menus could stay on the thread.

I think (Karen tell me if I'm wrong) the attempt in this thread is to avoid the scrolling, scrolling that one has to do with the journals just to get to people's menus. I suppose if we keep posting stuff between the menus (like this post) and questions - we will run into the same kind of journaling thread? Okay, no more posting here for ME. Only menus! I promise!

It's up to you essjay, since you master-minded the thread as to how you want the thread to evolve. I'll move the Keto Shake question back here.

Yes, I understand the problem with the journals (that is what brought me here with this), but I thought we could have some flexibility especially in the beginning. Perhaps if we do little notations on our meals with newbies in mind (that is why I did it on mine), we'll avoid a lot of questions...but if one or two crops us, that's okay.

I think the ideal is menu only thread but with some room for flexibility if something is not clear or someone is new (asking what is this or what is that?)

I want to avoid endless scrolling also, but I hope we can allow a few questions from newbies (or not so newbies). Also, as we begin to understand what about our menus is not clear (like if we use terminology that new lc'ers don't understand) we can figure out how to make our menu listings as helpful to others as we can.

So I think we're shooting for straight menus but we might not ever have a 100% just menus.

Does everyone think that is okay?

Groovy! I completely agree with you. The thread will never be 100% menus.

I might even throw in a menu or two.

Thumbs up

Sounds good to me essjay. Since each date will start a new thread, it's unlikely to generate hundreds of posts each.

I think it's reasonable for someone to ask about an ingredient or a food they're unfamiliar with. Our members come from many countries around the world, so I'm hoping we'll see plenty of diversity!

Breakfast - 2 cups instant coffee, 2 scrambled eggs toppd with leftover green chile pork from last night's dinner. The Green Chile Pork was made of 2lb Pork Shoulder Roast & 4 cans of salsa verde (5 carbs per can), plus a little garlic salt to taste.

Lunch - nothing

Dinner - Baked Ranch chicken (made with boneless, skinless chicken breast, coated in mayo, then breaded in ground pork rinds mixed with hidden valley ranch salad dressing mix. Mashed turnips with a little cream and butter and salt, topped with beef gravy from a jar (YUM, these were so good. I read the suggestion on one of these boards from one of you who I can't remember, but it was delish, liked it better than mashed cauliflower) and a small salad. Drank a diet orange soda.

Water - about 80 oz today.

Default New day, New menus, new thread?

A new day - shouldn't we start a new thread so it's easy to find each day? I think questions and recipes would be good here too.
