Default I was the topic on Converstaion...

Sometimes you just like to be the one they talk to...not about. Today at work, I was the topic of converstaion, and I never left the room! I was able to talk about my sucess so far, and my co-workers were talking to me, not about me. In fact, so many people asked if I had done something different with my hair, gotten it cut, been to the Tanning Salon or had something else different done. I just smiled and said "No, not lately".
I know many of you know what it's like being the most obvious person in the room, but everyone pretends you are not there. Well, today (for some reason, today was the most prominent day) it didn't happen. I realize that I feel better about myself, and that is protrayed when I talk and walk, but it's nice to finally be noticed, not ignored.
I don't mean to gloat, but it was just a really good day.
Hope many more follow.

That's really great. It's so wonderful when people notice and tell us that we are looking better. And to not have to be invisible. That is awesome.

It's great the way that you feel better about yourself, walk and talk differently etc.

Congrats on your great day. May you have many more.

Marty

That is so great! I'm happy for you and I don't think bragging about it here is bad at all, we all have to brag a bit and this is the perfect place to do it!

Good for you! May you find that many more people notice the good in you always!

Sometimes I wonder if that old adage: good things come in small packages, has not warped our psyche. I need to get a t-shirt made that says:

"Hey! Good things come in large packages, too!"

Too bad some people cannot see the good in "people" regardless their size. Or color. Or religion. Or sex. Or age.

On the other hand, my life has been blessed (in ways) by being able to KNOW who my true friends are: those who have accepted me lovingly regardless my size.

You know, I am beginning to learn that our self confidence makes a difference in how we are treated by others. I know that since I have started losing weight that I am more positive and that exudes out.

Now that's just plain old fun! What a nice story - sounds like a great place to work! A nice bit of recognition (especially self-recognition) can go a long way.

TeresaMay - You are 100% right on in this observation! This applies in every area of our life. Think about the last time someone recommended a great movie to you. When you see they are excited - you can tell. You can tell if they really liked the movie or if it was just ok by they way they talk and how they carry themselves, or by the way their eyes light up when they talk about it.

In the same way, people can sense when you have low self esteem, and they know that you are somebody they can use or abuse or simply walk over and you won't put up a fuss or a fight. It is sad that some people operate this way, but it is part of human nature sometimes. You even see this in little kids - the timid ones are the ones that end up doing whatever everyone else decides they should do.

Thanks for sharing that GREAT observation with us
