Default How many carbs before starting this WOE?

Has anyone sat down and figured out how many carbs they ate before changing to this style of eating? Before, my usual breakfast alone, Peanut butter on a toasted Big English muffin, was more carbs then I eat now in an entire day.....

Honestly, I couldn't if I tried. Before starting this WOE, I never even watched what I ate...I wasn't even really conscious of it. Acquiring that awareness is really the first step to this WOE.

Before I started though, I don't know... whatever I craved I ate, so on some days it could be quite high I suppose, and on others, astronomical.

Arrow Pre-LC carbs?

Hell, I'd have 123 carb grams from the three Pepsis I drank every day alone!

I would have never believed two months ago that I could drink Diet Pepsi and like it. My "taster" has definitely recalibrated for the better.

When I was semi-LCing about 80-100 per day. When I was just counting points... around 300 easily.

I was eating a pie and donut for breakfast, washed down with a coke. Morning tea was a giant cookie. lunch was a roll and maybe a slice of cake. Dinner was meat and always some form of potatoes. I must have eaten about 500 points a day and 4000 calories LOL. Eck!

Hi Helen

It's amazing the difference in how I feel on Atkins and when I'm not. Like two different people.

I'm going with a friend to Williamsburg, VA. My first "girls only" vacation, and I can't wait!

Before this WOE, the only beverage I consumed was Pepsi. Seriously. I am not kidding - I'd drink probably about 120 ounces a day at least. So I'd be getting over 400 grams of carbs a day in my beverages alone.

I also loved and overindulged in bread. Whether it be bagels, biscuits, cinnamon rolls or donuts, I'd be certain to be noshing on one (chugging it down with an ice cold Pepsi) at my desk moments after coming in. I'd fill up on dinner rolls before the main course arrived to my table at restaurants. My lunches were always esconsed in a baked good of some sort.

It wouldn't surprise me if my average daily total of carbs was well over 800 grams per day. Wow! No wonder I was tired all the time.

I'm so glad my sis converted me. I feel so much more energetic now. It's been a blessing, that's for sure.

Hmm well since I had gastric bypass surgey in 2000, I had to give up sugar mostly but pre-surgery was a Pepsi FREAK! I know I easily did over 600 carbs a day then. Post surgery I was easily doiing 300+ frompasta, bread, ect.

Now I try and keep between 30-60 a day depending on what I am doing. And since i know how good I feel on low (or lower anyway) I can't believe myself I could actually function at those levels lol.

Have a great time...I try to do a girls only vacation once a year...they are the absolute best....you can do all the things that you can't do with your male counterpart. I am on a 13 day countdown to mine..with dh...but damn, I need to get away...over two years without going away...and almost a year and a half of taking care of triplets...I need a few days of sleep.....we are going to key largo.... dh will dive, i can snorkel, sleep....oh boy...can't wait. AND, I am going to vacation the atkins way! It can be done! Have fun!

My problem also.....I could live on Bagels....breakfast, lunch and dinner...mine washed down with a diet coke....
I LOVE bread....but it is a bad thing for me to eat....triggers overeating. I don't even know how many carbs a giant, yummy, NY bagel has... but it is like poison to me...I know. Have you tried the Mock danish yet? YUMMY.....what a treat..... so low carb too. Keep up the good work!
