monosodium Glutamate is also known as MSG

I know it can trigger carb cravings in some carb addicts others it has no effect. Also a lot of people are very sensitive or allergic to it.

They use it in chinese cooking alot. Or at least they used to, not sure they do any longer as a lot of people were allergic to it.

Yikes! Thanks for the heads up on that. MSG can also trigger migraines. I guess that's a product to avoid for some of us.

Its a chemical and I would rather eat foods and not chemicals, but sometimes it is hard to avoid. At one time it was marketed as Accent, a flavor enhancer and people actually sprinkled it on their food!

MSG actually contains beet sugar! My mom read it somewhere a couple months ago... since then, I've avoided it much more!
