Default I Scream for Low Sugar Alcohol Chocolate Ice Cream

I have been combing through all the ice cream threads looking for what people like and don't like. Although the discussions have been incredibly helpful/informative, the knowledge I seek is a little more specific than what I've been able to find.

The ice cream I'm looking for is:

Chocolate
Phenomenal
Low Sugar Alcohols (no sugar alcohols?)

Although I don't seem to be sensitive to sugar alcohols, I'm still not that great with portioning (especially with ice cream!). The ramifications of consuming a pints (or more) worth of maltitol rich ice cream are a bit unnerving, to say the least. Although I probably eat ice cream only 3 times a year, when I do, I want to be able to wallow in it without having to worry about potentially wreaking havoc on my digestive system.

And although I'm primarily interested in low sugar alcohol ice cream, if you do have a chocolate ice cream that you absolutely worship but isn't low in sugar alcohols, please, do share.

The carb smart brand chocolate is better than "real" chocolate ice cream, and it's sweetened with Splenda.

I've never had a problem with it and I'm VERY sensitive to sugar alcohols.

you arent going to be able to find any ice-cream that isnt made with sugar alcohols.. they all are. The Blue Bunny Carb Freedom is what i eat, i have absolutely no stomach problems with it. And its REALLY good.

Rosie, do you have any problems with the cravings from the fructose in the carb smart? What's the most you've eaten at one time?

Moonwalker, I'm looking for the lowest sugar alcohols I can find, and although finding a no sugar alcohol ice cream would be nice, I agree that one does not appear to exist. What's the most you've eaten at one sitting of the blue bunny chocolate ice cream?

I've eaten a fourth of the container before with no problems.....

It doesn't cause cravings, except for more of the ice cream, seriously. I know the fructose is bad, so I don't buy it often, but it's nice every once in a while.

You are right! It just makes you want to eat more of it. But once i have stopped, the craving goes away in about 2 minutes.

Rosie, that's a fourth of a half gallon container, right? I applaud your willpower. If I had a half gallon in front of me and it was really good ice cream... well, I might have to do some thinking before I get a half gallon of anything

How about chocolate ice cream bars? I've heard some extremely favorable comments about the atkins ice cream bars although I'm not sure of the sugar alcohol content in those.

Moonwalker, me too. The chocolate and strawberry especially.

scott123, I haven't tried the ice cream bars, but I've seen nothing but great reviews of them. One of my friends said it's like a Dove bar. I have tried the fudge bars and they're not as good as the ice cream. They're really light and almost whipped, not very chocolatey and NOTHING like a fudgesicle.
It would be nice if they sold pints of the ice cream, LOL.

I was looking at those, but your not very chocolatey assessment is the kiss of death. Thanks, I can cross those off my list

Le Carb has no sugar alcohols! 3 grams carbs per 1/2 cup. Not quite as good as Carb Freedom. around $3.19 a pint.

Ruspt, thanks, that's helpful. What do you prefer about Carb Freedom? Is it richer? More chocolatey?
