Angry Hubby Says I Can't do it

Hi. My name is Heather. I am a 28 yo married mother of 3 plus a dog, a cockatiel, and a mother in law.. I am also a full time nurse and recently became a full time student.

This is my third or fouth attempt.. but I think it's my first SERIOUS attempt. Hubby laughed at me last night and said... "Yeah right.. again?"

Needless to say, he gave me all the motivation I need!!!

Wish me luck!!

Also... need some ideas. I don't eat eggs or fish. But still... I will succeed somehow!!!!!!

There is plenty to eat, I don't eat fish either and seldom eat eggs.

Check out..www.atkinscenter.com for a list of allowed foods in phase 1.

Good luck, show DH how wrong he is.

You can do it.

Smile Sounds like you're a busy mom too!

Sounds like you're a busy mom too!

Give him time! When you start "wasteing away to nothing" as my hubby says now - he'll definately change his mind! My hubby now tries most of the LC things I make and he also has switched to diet pop! Think maybe there's a little jealousy there that the wife is getting skinnier! Good - I like competition!

If your reaction to LC is anything like mine you'll have tons more energy too! From your brief note it sure sounds like you will find a place to burn it up!

Start a journal - people from this site will be a very good support group - it's easier to communicate back and worth with others that way!

Good Luck!

Hiya Heather,

Don't worry about the hubby...use him as motivation as you said...you will be the one having the last laugh...

As for eating...I don't ever eat fish...I take supplements instead and I am not a huge egg eater either...In the recipe section of the forum there are some great breakfast recipes to help with the flavor of eggs...my personal favorite it the Mock Danish you do in the microwave...mmmm.

Have a great day!!

Janice

Hi Heather!

Welcome to the forum! Yes, you can do it!!!

Don't worry about the eggs, I haven't eaten eggs in a month! Think outside the typical breakfast box... here's some of the things I eat for breakfast:

Celery and Cream Cheese
Cream cheese with a little Cinnamon sprinkled on top
left over meat from dinner

I don't recall if you're doing Atkins, but after induction you can add things like cottage cheese and berries...

Good luck to you on your low carb journey!

Mine didn't think I could lose the 40 pounds I'm aiming for, either, but now that I've lost 15 in just a few weeks, he is re-assessing his position. <G>

I'm a busy mom, too--I have 3 boys, aged 3, 5, and 31. I've found it much easier than I expected to stay on Atkins while still feeding the little guys (the big guy has to fend for himself since we work opposite schedules.) The one thing I'm finding difficult is getting enough exercise, but now that the days are getting longer, I can put my kids in the stroller and walk the neighborhood, so that's improving.

I completely understand what you're talking about. My hubby said the same thing. This is my second attempt at Atkins. The first time I lost 26 pouinds and then got bored. I didn't realize there were so many things out there I could eat. I thought I was stuck with meat, cheese and eggs. Yuck! I started again on 3-8 and when he tried to get me to eat something a couple of days later, I told him I can't eat that and his response was what diet are you on this time. He's sooooooo supportive! NOT! He says it's not what I eat that counts, what really matters is what I do. I should stay busy all day and I'll lose all that I want! Now he's part of my motivation to prove him wrong!!

Good Luck on your diet!

Hello there and welcome to the forum that will make this time round work!!! I am fairly new myself - second week of induction and I think joining is the best thing I have ever done. So many people have been putting a downer on this WOL but they are all eating there words as I have lost 7lbs in my first week! it really works and it helps to stay motivated when so many nice people make nice comments and give some loads of motivation.

Good luck and keep motivated (oh and drink lots of water!!!)

Vic xx
