They may be been put off by his convoluted phrasing: "I remain to be convinced it is any more dangerous..."

On the BBC documentary there was some concern expressed about the effect of not having sufficient fibre intake. This if I recall came from an expert on colonic cancers.

However we are looking at long term possible and unproven risks in comparison with the known adverse affects of overweight to many junk foods.

As a professional I reckon Dr. Mark Porter was correct to express some reservation on this aspect.
