Default New member here checking in!

Hi everyone! I am new here and just wanted to pop in and say hello!

My name is Angel. I’ve lost 6.5 pounds so far since starting on 2/25/04 (yeah, I know I won’t keep losing at this rate forever, but I’m sure enjoying it right now! Lol) I have as my goal weight 120 right now, and I’ll take it from there. I really should try to get to about 110-115 (I have a TINY frame under all this extra weight), but I’m not even doing that yet. Baby steps is what I keep telling myself!
That puts me at having to lose 118.5 to get to my goal weight (oh MAN does that seem impossible!).

Just wanted to say hello!

Hi Angel and welcome to the TDC! Conrats on your weight loss so far! I try not to think in terms of how much I have to lose, rather, I break it into smaller chunks that don't sound so bad. My first goal is to get to ONDERLAND! How great it will be to see a 1 in front!

I'm with you on it feeling impossible to lose so much. I also set my goal higher than I'd prefer to be. Personally, I want to get down between 120-130, however, I've been 147 before, so somehow that makes it seem more attainable. I started at 242 with the higher goal of 147, giving me 95 pounds to lose. After 3 weeks I'm 21% of the way there. That makes it seem far less impossible... but wow. When I first started I was so scared... like, "Oh my goodness... How am I going to do this for so long?!" Less scared now.

So if it starts feeling impossible feel free to drop by my journal for a chat. I completely understand how you feel. Also, congrats on your loss so far! That's so great!

Welcome to the TDC! And congratulations on the weight you've lost so far. That's a great start!

We put on the pounds one at a time and they have to come off the same way. I know it seems daunting, though, when you first get started. It does work if you stick with it...just look at some of the folks here and you can see their success!

I highly encourage you measure inches or get a body fat analyzer (which tells you how much fat is on the inside). I just bought the analyzer and I'm already finding it a great motivator.

Good luck!

Welcome to the world's most supportive forum. Ok, I can't verify that, but it sure feels that way. That's what matters right? Anyway, we are glad to have you here and look forward to hearing your success stories and helping through rough patches.
Congrats on your loss!
