Default new here and confused about the diet pop and herbs

HI my name is Jessica and I am totally confused on the diet pop thing, I have the cad book , I just started today..I am just trying to figure out what to do tomorrow. I am a caffiene addict I can not function without it..lol I just cant, is it the aspartane, sp? or the caffiene that is the problem with this diet? what about diet rite it has that splendia in it? is that ok? or just nooo diet pop? and if i can not have any diet pop, can i atleast have my lil gurana pills I have taken before..its like a caffiene pill basically?

also I am one of those ppl who think they gotta waste money on any new herb that comes out I enjoy it though, its almost a hobby..lol
what about any stimulant herbs, not ephedrine but like ginseng, anything like that a no no on this diet?

The CAD book says that diet soda is ok. But later the CALP book says it isn't good for the diet. Even in the CAD book they tell you to stop it if you gives you troubles. I have the same problem. 100 oz. a day diet pepsi addiction. Diet Rite doesn't have the caffeine in it, so it doesn't speak to me. Most folks on CAD find that they can't have it. I'm psyching myself up to give it up...

I can't speak about the herbs. The Hellers do recommend certain supplements though.

That's the way I feel. If I'm not getting the caffeine, what's the point? However, the caffeine in splenda sweetened tea doesn't seem to be good enough for me. I honestly think I'm addicted to the whole diet pepsi mix, including the nutrasweet/aspartame part of it. Mmmmm... bubbly brown toxic goodness...

Ack! This isn't the right place to post this, but you don't have a journal yet! You look great in your pics, I soooo want to learn to bellydance. When I get to be your size (your start size - you look great) I am gonna do that!

Diet Pepsi and Diet Coke both have Nutrasweet. For me, Nutrasweet triggers strong sugar cravings. The caffeine can increase your insulin and cause you to store food as fat rather than burning it off. Also, the soda is not as healthy for you as water is. You might be making it harder for your liver to do its job.
