Default How long did you hover around your set point weight?

Hi...well...I've been hovering around 160 for about 3 weeks now...I think 160 is an old set point weight for me...in fact I think I weighed that for years before I began packing on the lbs., but I'm not sure because I have no memory and I didn't used to tell dh how much I weighed. So, assuming this is an old set point weight for me...I'm wondering who else has gotten stuck at a set point weight and how long you were stuck there?

I have lost some inches, so this isn't a stall...but it is getting exasperating. If I could get an idea of how long other people were stuck it would help me psycologically to understand that I WILL get past this. Thanks!

How about since December??? I keep going up and down from 134-137 with no "real" weight loss, though my measurements are slowly changing. This is where I was many years ago before my 2nd son was born, obviously my body likes this weight! Though I think my lack of loss has to do with being peri-menopausal (those lovely hormones!)more than anything.

I'm so glad you asked this. I wish I could answer it! I've been at 165 for 2-3 weeks now. It is a "set point" for me... this is the weight that I have always stopped at in the past, regardless of what weight-loss plan I was using. I'm hoping I don't stick too long here; it feels a little discouraging. Getting lower than 165 has been in the back of my mind since I started this WOE... and I'm so anxious for it to happen!

Part of it could just be the winter weight hang on. You might get a nice loss around spring.

I have had a few different set points. One I stayed at for about a month or more, but that was because I was lazy about my carb intake, though working out alot. Right now I'm stuck at a set point again, but that was form a mix of cheaating over holidays, going lax on carb counting after (I eat low to moderate carb, just don't keep track) and the largest reason is not moving as much. I know if I started going back to the gym or doing my pilates tapes at home, I would go down.

Here is my theory. When I finally got down to 142, I bounced around for 6 months. Then I lost 6 lbs. Now I have been bouncing between 136 and 139 lbs. The end of Feb or March will mark 6 months of bouncing. Sooooo, I should lose a few more pounds soon-right? I have lost inches so I really try not to complain but I am so ready for that 125 lb goal.

Two years and counting.

140-ish is my "no exercise/too much higher carb stuff" set point. 130-ish is my "exercise/good clean eating" set point.
