Thanks to Jill (my computer HERO!) I now have a gym log. If someone had told me a year ago that one day I'd be doing this, I really wouldn't have believed it possible.

BUT, before I get too smug sounding, like I think I'm going to be doing any real serious 'working out,' on any consistent basis, I'll now post what I've done to date. Then, if this log still exists a year from now, next Feb (2005) I'll be all braggy! But if what I've been hearing is true, it takes 21 days to form a new habit. Hmmmmm. Let's see where I am in 21 days!

**************
Feb 21/04

25.06 minutes

5.4 kilometers

73 cals (approx. by bike computer-I know it's wrong, but to be consistent, I'll record here as it probably indicates something about my rpm)
**************

Feb 22/04

30 minutes

6.2 kls

84 cals
**************

Feb 23/04

30.01 minutes

6.7 kls

91 cals
**************

Feb 26/04

30 minutes
7.4 klm
100 cals.

And to keep track somewhere with my hand held fat analyzer thingy:

When I first tried it, at 318, I was so off the scale (it goes up to a max of 50%) it couldn't give me a reading, other than, "error."

As I find the little scraps of paper around the house, when I wrote the numbers down each time I took a reading, I'll update them here. But for today, adn the two other dates I found:

***********
fat /48.2
BMI/45.2
***********

Nov 5th/03

fat / 47.6
BMI/ 44.3
***********

Feb 26/04

fat / 44.9
BMI/ 39.7

Thank goodness for Sesame Street. That is about the only way I can get in the treadmill time with Sara is around. She loves that show!

(For) Feb 27/04

30.7 minutes

7 klms

95 calories

Yes, I know it's kind of silly to record that 0.7 but I want to keep a record of how long it takes me to reach 7klms, as I will eventually start working on the intensity, etc.

I'll be back later to post what I do today. This work out was done at 12:30 last night, which actually worked really well. The house was quiet, I got to 'ride' knowing no one was going to ask me for a drink, snack, or to settle the third world was. I also got to watch TV again! I feel like I'm sneaking in junk food or something when i get to watch TV. It was fun! I think I can see why people like it so much. I plan to fit my exercise in today around Trading Spaces!

I had to force myself to get through this last night for some reason. Not sure why? Anyway, my goal is to do it every day for 21 days, if possible, since I'll be away for almost a week in march. I want to get the exercise habit ingrained NOW, before i leave!

Hmmmmmmmm. Something is wrong with my bike. I did my 30 minutes last night but that funny clicking sound it had been making for a couple of days suddenly stopped and tonight when I rode it the resistance was almost completely gone-like when riding a real bike on a flat street. It said I had gone 17 kils in 30 mins and burned a zillion calories.

Anyway, I'm really irritated as I know this means (whether it's to return it and get it replaced, or have it repaired) i'll be without my bike for at least a few days, minimum. I'm going to try my treadmill later today, OR, my tae bo tapes?
