I usually get sort of a weird sweet/plastic/metallic taste. I've never noticed it causing a breath problem though. I use those Listerine breath strips to freshen my mouth up periodically.

When I started this diet five weeks ago my husband was sorta discouraging me from it, and mentioned that when his ex-wife did it (back in the 80s) she had really bad breath. I just told him it was because her fangs were probably rotten...

Now I find out I might have the same problem!!!!??? Please tell me I'm not going to "smell" like his ex-wife! AAAARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Oh yes, the bad breath! I kind of feel sorry for my barber, dentist, and oh yeh my DW. My breath varies from the almost sweat you mentioned to darn right bad. Usually it's the worst in the morning.

Brushing teeth (remember to brush tongue and cheeks), mouthwash, and SF gum will help. At least you know it's working!

BTW Alicia, I love your motorcycle Betty Boop!

and thanx BrenWa

Glad to see I'm not alone. No one has told me I breath stinks yet...I just assumed it did due to what I have read about ketosis breath.

Hard to describe, other than to say that it isn't horribly unpleasant, but I definitely know I'm in ketosis! It just tastes different than when I'm not. I do try to brush my teeth more often or keep tic tacs around!

My son and I were sitting together on the couch and he looked at me and said, "You smell like rotten eggs.". I asked how he knew it was rotten eggs. He answered, "because I smelled your breath."

I also have a kind of fur on my teeth. My gums are getting there work out with the
tooth brush.

I have bad breath, therefore I must be loosing!

Press on my bad breathed loosers.
