Talking Newbie Number ??

Hello everyone. I'm a newbie to this forum. I just started "Atkins"ing roughly a week ago, and have already lost 8 pounds. Very excited about that! Just not sure when that dreaded potato and bread craving will go away. I tried Atkins about 6-months ago, and had to give up when the cafeteria at work served baked potatoes. (I'm okay at home...take too long to cook. τΏτ )

I just wanted to post to say "Hello!". I've been reading some postings, and have to say a huge "CONGRATULATIONS!" to everyone. It really sounds like this is a group of very dedicated people. I look forward to seeing everyone's progress over the long haul.

I started this lifestyle change (I hate to call it a diet) weighing in at 260. I'm now down to 252. My goal weight is 130. I'm looking forward to losing essentially - half a person. Wish me luck!

--Signing off for now.

Great job on your loss so far! No worries about the cravings. They do go away. Just stay away from the foods that you crave for awhile and you should do fine. Today was the first day I only really craved one thing (on day 12... again) and that was because at work I rang up someone's bagels and they were HOT bagels. They left the bag open and I got a big whiff. Took me a couple hours to shake, but other than that I'm actually feeling quite a bit stronger than the previous days. You'll do great! Just be patient!

Welcome!! I can really attest to the fact that the cravings go away. I never have an urge to snack in the evenings now -- totally unheard of a few short months ago. There is a partially eaten carton of SF ice cream in my fridge and it doesn't even make a sound. Hope you will be there too soon!

Hi!!

I'm glad you joined us here on the board. I have found this place to be a great place for information, support and motivation.

I have been following induction for 2 weeks now and I can't believe how much my appetite has decreased. It was a little shaky at first with some headaches, but things are really rolling now and for the first time in my life I found something that really "clicks" for me.

Keep up the good work!!
