Mmmm, I LOVE bacon! I have 4 or 5 pieces a day, usually the low sodium kind. It doesn't give me any problems provided I don't eat too much other sodium laden food.

The costco brand is fantastic. You can get four individually wrapped pounds for just 7.75 total, which is about a third of what you pay at the grocery stores.

And kmdp, I cannot stress to you strongly enough that you MUST get this "low fat diet" notion out of your head. The atkins way means that you eat fat to get skinny.

Low fat food, as intellectually appealing as the concept may sound, is a disaster. Look at how obesity levels in this country have soared since that fad caught on.

I've been buying nitrate-free bacon only sparingly at the health food store because of the cost...I'm so glad you mentioned the low sodium bacon at Costco!
