This happens to me. I always have a big Whoosh after too. It never fails. But I've uped my fat intake and now I'm hungry less and still lose weight in Whoosh form.

Last week I lost 6 pounds, in less than 7 days. It stopped on Friday and now this morning another 2 pounds.

As long as I'm losing I don't care what my body does.

Lily

Keep up the good work, can't wait till my stats look like yours.

I just posted yesterday about peanut butter cravings. Its the same thing. I have finally stopped my cheating cycle and have been eating lc. But in the last couple of weeks I have been eating a ton of lc (especially peanut butter). Hmmm, maybe Im going to start losing again! And weirdly, my hunger seems to be gone today. Ill let you know.

so, i guess some people get these cravings after a whoosh and some people get them before?.... that's so weird. I'm glad to know i'm not the only one who binges on lc food every now and then--i felt like such a pig, it was so depressing!

What's the leptin connection?

Hmmm... I definitely do get ups and downs in my appetite. It's like a light switch. It used to be on all the time (before lowcarb). Now its mostly off. But occassionally it'll be on again and I feel the need to feed!

weird....do u think its the lack of carbs in our diet that makes our body want more carbs so we over-eat on lc foods, trying to get carbs? Maybe a way to break a lc food overeating/binge is to add a bit of carbs in?...or would that make it worse?!

I always worry if I start binging on LC foods (yesterday I had lc ice cream with lc choc. sauce with crushed almonds and some diet Pepsi)--it's all LC, but I worry about the psychology/emotions behind it. Maybe trying to self-sabotage my weightloss efforts by binging?? Hmmmm--seem to feel like binging when I'm doing WELL, not when things aren't happening...

I'll have to think about this some more

We have easy access to carbs. I mean who eats one or two potato chips or 1/2 slice of bread? I think that sense carbs are so easlily accessable that is what we go for. Also our bodies are accustomed to burning carbs as fuel. It is easier to burn carbs. Fat burning takes alot more work.

I made a terrible mistake of running quite low on protein snacks and that goofed me up. I kept getting one or two corn chips and I nibbled on cashews. DH did buy some beef jerky but by the time I found it, it was too late. My favorite snack is cottage cheese, raw almonds ( I prefer the flavor of raw almonds ) and strawberries.

yeah, sometimes I binge on lc food when I'm doing well do-- i don't know if its a biological thing (like my body thinks its starving and wants to get back to set point weight) or psychological (i've done this good, i deserve a treat)

Wow, I didn't know that was happening to me, but it explains a lot about the last couple days. Today was my weekly weigh in day and I was dreading it because all I've wanted to do was eat the last couple of days. I didn't give in and eat anything I really shouldn't, but my carb count was higher than normal because I just couldn't feel satisfied. Then I was shocked when I weighed myself and lost 2 pounds just from Tuesday.

I don't understand it, but ya gotta love it....

I was shocked to have lost 4 pounds this morning and I definetely feel hungry all the time. I am encouraged by other people's posts here that its a good thing. Maybe these 4 pounds will stay off or even more go with them.
