Unhappy the java monkey, still on my back

I could use some tips on losing the caffeine. I still need the morning coffee shot, the afternoon diet coke, and the after dinner espresso. The new sugarless Russel Stover chocolates are great, but, I'm concerned that the amines in the cocoa may add to the caffeine effect.

How about using green tea as a weaning off stage? It worked for me.

Hi,
You could switch your diet coke to caffine free s/f diet vanilla coke (ah heaven!). I haven't kicked the coffee yet either, but so far it hasn't done me harm.
Good luck to you!

Smile Hello

I never gave up my morning coffee (black of course).. and I drink Diet Mt. Dew also. It never affected me reaching my goal. And I was not willing to make that sacrifice. My best advice is cut back if you can.. and see if the scales still move. If they do not .. then you'll have to make some adjustments.

I began by using a mix of regular and decaf coffee in the morning. Eventually just working my way to all decaf. The soda I did the same way. Started drinking some caffeine free and some regular. Just worked my way down to all caffeine free then started adding water and worked my way to all water. I had stopped my caffeine habit before and I did it cold turkey. The headaches I had were excruciating. Removing it slowly worked best for me.
