Default Buddy for 30 something Mom with 20-30lbs to lose

Hi,

I'm looking for a LC buddy!
I am 32, 5'4 and currently 149lbs, down from 164 in December.
My 1st goal is 140 by March 6.
After that the sky is the limit, 130 by summer, and maybe even less.

I love eating Low Carb.
For me I have found easier than any "diet" I've tried before.

We are committed to the WOE at our house.
My DH is bordering on fanatic as he is on Atkins instead of medications for Cholesterol and Type II diabetes.

I have been on a 4 year exercise hiatus with intermittent periods of exercise.
I would like to recommitt to exercise for life, not just weight loss.

We have been obsessing about having anther baby at our house for a year, so I guess low carb is our new obsession... at least the obsession has visible results!

Yea, I guess we are buddies!

Hope you have a great weekend planned.

I have been to the gym 4 days this week! Katie loves the childcare there.
She wants to make sure we are going everyday so I guess I won't have much trouble keeping up the exercise.

I know it is possible the weightloss will slow with muscle gain from exercise, this is a little discourging. I am hoping for a 2 pound loss for the week. Sunday-Sunday.

Monday I'm weighing at the gym again, clothes on in the afternoon. I'm hoping for 150 or under. Fingers crossed!

I have a Dr.'s appt. Tuesday to discuss my blood work.

You can count me in with Zebra also,
Check my other post to see if you want to help me with my weekend strategy. I am having a small dilemna regarding Valentine's plans.

Anyway a good buddy system is exactly what I need to keep going since I am the only one of my friends currently doing the low carb thing. Around my area everyone is doing weight watchers which is a great diet for some people, but not a match for me.

I am 31 and 5"4 and I exercise about 3 times a week because I coach tumbling in the evenings at our local gym. I definitely need to learn to let go of my caffeine addiction as well, but I figure 1st things 1st, let me get a handle on my carb problem and then move on from there.

To make matters worse I have one of my daughters ( I have 2 ages 8, 5) who it is in her best interests to eat lots of carbs because she has cerebral palsy and uses up energy 3x as fast as any other child. UGH! I am one of those moms who now finds herself making separate meals for everyone.

So thank you gals for any support and I will chat with ya soon!

Is this thread dead? I am 35 and I have 2 great kiddo's - 7 yo boy and a 4 yo girl. I have 30 ish pounds to lose. I was doing Atkins but found it hard to move out of induction. I lost 15 pounds and then gained 10. So, I am trying CALP (Carbo Addicts Life Plan) which I find makes more sense to me.
I've only been doing CALP for four days do it's too early for me to judge.
I'd love to join if anyone else is still interested.

Not Dead Anymore!

How are all those 30 somethings lose 20 pounds doing?

I'm trying for an 11 pound loss in 6 weeks.
That may be overly ambitious and I will take whatever I get.
145 will make me VERY HAPPY!

Smile Room for one more?

Hi, I'm a 33 year old mother of two (7,4). I'm 5'4" and would like to loose 30 lbs or so. I'm at 163 today down from 174 a week and a half ago. Induction has gone great so far. I am ttc#3 so I may or may not get to lose 30 lbs before switching to maintenance. I'm actually hoping not to get pregnant too quickly so I can get down to at least 145 first, although 130 would be wonderful! Talk to you guys soon!

Hi Valerie,

I am down to 161 today! I have found that this is the only way for me to loose weight without cheating. LoCal/LoFat is absolutely horrible I never survive the first few days. Yes, 140 sounds like a wonderful goal. I know the pregnancy will be much easier at that weight. I plan to stay on the maintenance phase while pregnant. I know if I start eating sugar again while pregnant, I'll gain it all back! Talk to you soon. Have a great day!

Kim

Hey Kim,

Keep up the good work!

I will be away from the computer all next week.

I'm planning on staying LC while vacationing.

Wish me luck.

Hi Valerie,

Hope you are having a great vacation. I'm down to 159. The last couple of days have been tough. TOM comes on Sunday, and my mood swings are terrible the last two days. Been having some cravings too. Luckily, I am surviving. My only cheat was some popcorn yesterday, not too much. The scales didn't move, so at least I didn't go overboard. Can't wait to here from you. Hope you do well over the vacation. Talk to you soon.

Kim

Congrats on further weight loss Kim!

My vacation was a ton of fun and although I stayed mostly true to LC I came back without a loss.

Compared to my week long cruise last year when I came home 8 pounds heavier I guess a no loss is not so bad.

Goals this week- continue with lots of water and find my way back to the gym

I have not lost all hope that I will fit my leather pants before becoming pg, even if it is too warm to wear them anywhere I would love to put them on for a few minutes... maybe I could wear them grocery shopping or something.. wouldn't that be a riot.

My child is becoming increasingly whiney and a terrible Mama's girl it is about to drive me to chocolate... any idea how long this stage lasts?
