Question Beverage Survey

I am curious? Those who are willing...please share your favorite low-carb beverages in the order of (1) first favorite (2) second favorite and (3) third favorite. We all know "water" is our most vital beverage, but please don't choose it unless it's truly one of your favorites. Also feel free to list the (3) beverages you MISS the most.

Fredonian's favorites:

(1) Diet-Rite Caffiene Free Soda by RC Cola and made with Splenda

(2) Starbucks Coffee with Half-n-Half & Splenda

(3)Pesi-One the only Nutra-Sweet Soda that does not give me the brain fog.

The HIGH CARB beverages that had to go bye-bye and I MISS the most:

(1) ICE CREAM SHAKES (Esspecially from Dairy Queen)

(2) Milk

(3) Red Wine

great question, since beverages seem to be my biggest downfall:

favorites:
Diet A&W Cream Soda
Italian soda made with Club soda, a little heavy cream and a splash of sugerfree vanilla torani syrup (sweetened with splenda)
Chocolate latte made with heavy cream, and Atkins Chocolate syrup (sweetened with Splenda)

missed...
Margaritas
Margaritas
Milk

PS. dumb question: whats better, red or white wine?

I drink water, Crystal Light (about 2-3 qts a day) and when I have the craving for soda, Diet Root Beer. I can't stand any other diet soda.

My first, second and third favourite: Water. Sparkling water when I go out.

I can't remember the last time I had a diet beverage.

I drink coffee - completely black - but I consider it a drug, not a beverage.

HC beverages I miss: Nothing! A latte with cream and AS sometimes crosses my mind, but it's only a cameo apperance.

I thought it is was interesting about you having lattes as dessert Fredonian. I used to look forward to my mid-afternoon one - in fact I would obsess on it. That's when I realized that it was time to go completely black and get right down to just the caffiene high.

I agree about water being #l. After that it's decaff tea and coffee with half and half.

I most miss fruit juices which I used to make fresh. Oh well.

Also I have had wine, both red and white, all along and am still losing. I have a glass a day and just add the carbs. A bad habit I should lose but I really enjoy the relaxing effect. No wine on induction though.

Cheers,
Lara

Can't live without my Supersize Diet Coke from McDonald's. I get one everyone morning - it's my caffeine as I don't care for coffee!! I know it's not a good thing but it is my addiction.

At home (besides water of course ) I drink Waist Watcher sodas (no caffeine, no aspertame (has splenda), no sodium) Good stuff. Many flavors, my favorite is vanilla cream, but black cherry, orange and root beer are also really good. I add little whipped cream to the root beer or orange for a nice float for a treat!

Must admit that I also have an occasional lite beer or two on the weekends, it hasn't affected my loss to make me not do it so I still do every so often (especialy while eating the top only off a pizza - hey we all do what we gotta do, hahahah)

There that's it, my 1, 2, 3 favorite drinks!

Lightbulb hmmmm

favourite beverages

1 - coffee, since forever ... but not rot-gut
2 - filtered water, or spring/well water. My local tap water is unfortunately very chlorine-y
3 - Red Rose tea

I like green tea (jasmine scented) and some other herb teas too, ginseng and mint topping the list. The jasmine tea is wonderful made double-strength, chilled and mixed 50:50 with sparkling water ... a Green Tea Spritzer!

I don't really miss anything ... I always HATED milk, didn't like juice (too sweet) .. I drink diet pop now and then, if I'm at someone's house and that's what they're serving. Wine ... I like dry white wine, but the last six months or so, it hasn't liked me back. Causes me to retain fluid BIG time, and I go directly to the hangover, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Coffee, water, tea.

Doreen

I know. I LOVE diet coke, but since I've stalled, I'm off asparteme completely (at least until I figure out what's causing the stall). Honestly, I don't really miss any beverages since I started LC. I was never into coffe, juice or milk. I just drank diet coke 24/7.

Big thanks to Fredonian for starting this thread. I didn't even know that there were sodas out there made with splenda! I'm going to have to check out that Diet-Rite Caffiene Free Soda by RC Cola and made with Splenda!!! I mean, I REALLY miss my diet coke! And if this is a nice substitute, WOO HOO!

I have a hard time drinking enough fluids, but not because I don't like them!

Current favorites,

1. water (always plain, flavored water-yuck; best is spring water from walmart)
2. diet orange sunkist (funny, i used to hate orange soda before this WOE)
3. lemonade made with lemon juice and equal, when I'm not to lazy to mix it up (it's been months)

I miss,

1. Any fruit juice, esp. grape/apple and cran/grape
2. Sparkling red grape juice
3. Coke and Dr. Pepper

Default Thank You!

Thank you all for your responses. They were most interesting.

TWIRT gets the award for "most eccentric" with the Vanilla Torani Syrup. DOREENT...you almost won it with the Red Rose Tea.

NATRUSHKA, (NO U R NOT A FREAK) KAREN, & TARA get the "water logged" commendation. (Just teasing.... )

TAMARIAN gets the "GREEN" medal.

CHEN, DOREENT, & MYSELF, get the "CAFFEINE ANONYMOUS" membership cards.

WANGECI, ZIGGY, LARA, & JEANETTE get the "Most Normal" commendations.

Thanks again...it was interesting to read what you guys do to sustain the low-carb way of life.

Default Shucks...I missed the metals! :)

1. Water - of course (since I started the diet, I'm drinking about 12 cups a day...yumm yumm yumm!)

2. Diet Hansen's Soda - Kiwi Strawberry and Peach are my favorite. They're made with Splenda too...so no aspartame.

3. Wal*Mart has these carb free flavored sparkling waters...some of them taste like REAL fruit juice!!! SOO yummy!! They have aspartame in them though, if I can remember correctly, so I only indulge every-once-in-a-while.
***The nice thing too...if you want to be really bad (I haven't done this yet, but did a couple of times the last time I was on the diet) - At a social outing, you can add a shot of vodka to them (especially the cranberry one) and make a yummy mixed drinks. (hee hee...I know, I know...alcohol = bad...that's why I haven't done it this time...but sometimes, you just want to have a drink with your friends. )

I miss :

1. Newcastle - I LOVE having a dark beer when I come home from work...haha!

2. Strawberry Daiquiris - SLUUURP!

3. JUICE I LOVE Orange Juice, and Jamba Juice smoothies...*drool* LOL!

Let's see, my top three favorite beverages are:

1 - water (sorry but i love this stuff now)
2 - decaffeinated coffee with heavy cream
3 - Canada Dry sparkling water - no caffeine, no sweeteners, no citric acid, nothing but carbonated water and natural flavors. My favorite now is cranberry lime.

What I miss (but I don't really miss em that much):

1 - Diet Dr. Pepper when it used to really taste right. Now it's much too sweet.
2 - Regular coke.
3 - cherry limeade from Sonic
