Angry Loose Skin

Hi all!

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I'm new here and wouldn't begin to know where to find it.

I have lost 60 pounds so far, which is great, but I have loose skin on my upper arms and legs. I'm afraid to look anywhere else..
Has anyone else had this problem? Did the skin eventually catch up? I don't wanna be doomed to 3/4 length sleeves and long pants forever.

TIA for any help or suggestion you may have.

J

I have the same on my stomach. Its flat now but I still have loose skin. I am hoping it will tighten up before this summer trip to Trinidad!

It all depends on a) amount of loss, b) elasticity of skin, c) age and d) heridity.

If you lose a lot of weight, and quickly especially, skin will stay loose. Exercise may help some but most of the times the only thing one can do for excess skin is surgery.

This is my problem on my abodmen. Partially caused by my weight loss but partially due to my 2 pregnancies. I saw a plastic surgeon that said it will never get back to tight no matter how many sit-ups I do (and believe me, before my back went "out" I was doing 100+ crunches each morning with very little results).

So, how much did the plastic surgeon tell you it would cost to get it fixed? Also, did you happen to ask about strech marks and if so did he mention a why to remove them? Sorry, I got a lil excited

As long as you are not pregnant or breastfeeding, I have heard that treatment with Retinol-A can be effective against stretch marks.
I would also try Burt's Bees Carrot Night Creme. I haven't tried it on stretch marks, but it's healing properties might help fade them, the way it's fading age spots on my hands.

After having 4 wonderful children I gave up on the idea of the lower abdomen even looking normal again,hehehe.. But yes after loosing weight it "seems" to look droopy and uhg I hate that with a passion.Mederma helped the appearance of my stretch marks alot but the loose pouch follows me everywhere.
