Default Which Low-Carb Cookbook would you recommend?

I've decided that it's time to buy a low-carb cookbook. For those of you who have them, which ones would you recommend? I'd like one with a variety of foods- casseroles and one-dish meals, crock pot recipes, etc. I would prefer one that doesn't have a lot of funky, exotic ingredients (simply to keep my grocery bill from further skyrocketing!).

Any input would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

I bought Dana Carpender's 500 Low Carb Recipes.
It looks OK, but I'm pretty sure I won't be making that much from it, for some reason. Guess it depends on what you like to eat.

There is a downloadable one from a site (I'll have to look it up - don't have it marked off-hand).

I compiled one from a Yahoo Groups e-mail digest I get. It has about 150 pages.

I have been putting together a web site with collected recipes, although it needs to have additions to it, as soon as I find the time.

http://www3.telus.net/public/a7a74290

Atkins Site has lots of recipes for free to print or save in your "recipe file" electronically.

I don't know of very many other books, at present, that I've actually taken the time to look through.

I've spent a lot of time browsing the recipes on this site, as well as the Atkins site. I'm getting quite a collection of 8.5"x11" recipe cards!

I haven't checked to see what was out there yet either. I'm hoping to narrow my search with recommendations. I'll check out your site though! And that downloadable cookbook would be great too! Let me know if you find it!

lowcarbluxury.com and lowcarbfriends.com both have a lot of good ones. I have the "low-Carb Comfort Food" book and I love it. Most of the recipes are not really suitable for the early stages of Atkins, though... more towards later OWL.

Fluffybear has recommended "Atkins Best Recipes". Apparently it was just released. Here's the link to that thread: http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=159739

My favorite is the "500 Low-Carb Recipes" by Dana Carpender. I find I use it alot, especially since the ingredients are all easy to find and purchase. I also have her "15-Minute Low-Carb recipes" Though I havn't used it yet.

Just recently I bought "|Extreamly Lo-Carb Cuisine" By Sharron Long which has 250 recipes, and "The Ultimate Low-Carb Diet Cookbook" both of which have quite a few exciting new recipes I want to try and have very low carb counts for most dishes.

I have the Protien Power comfort foods on order and it should arrive here next week

Default Downloadable Recipe Book

It's in PDF format
In sections
Sometimes the fractions print over other words, so it can be a little hard to read, but there's probably some recipes that you could use.

I love to cook and collect cookbooks, so when I changed to low carb eating, I began to collect low carb cookbooks. I think I checked out just about every low carb cookbook my library carried, but didn't like anyof them. So I bought, three that I just love:

Everyday Low Carb Cooking by Alex Haas, chef at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Atkins Best Recipes (The expanded hardbound version is called Atkins Complete Cookbook. Both of these brand new books (2004) have beautiful color photos of each recipe)

Low-Carb Sweets by Sharon Allbright (this is a delightful book with not only great recipes, but funny anecdotes and insights).

I have a whole folder of recipes I've gotten from the web -- yahoo alone has 3 low carb forums just for recipes, that I know of.

I print them out when I want to make something, otherwise they all reside on my computer -- much easier for disorganized me to find what I'm looking for.

I like the Low Carb Comfort Food book, too. It gives very detailed instructions, and I like thier philosophy, even though I follow Atlins, and the book is by the Protein Power people.
My grandmother just got a LC slow cooker book, and promised to let me know if anything was good. I hope so, I love my slow cooker!

I love the "low-carb comfort food book" and Carpenter's "500 Low-Carb recipes" (use it all the time - it's softbound so you can actually keep the book open on its own!).

Haven't tried any others yet, though.
