Post what does eveyone use for a condiment on thier meat?

Just curious what everyone uses as a condiment on thier meats or if you just eat it plain. I usually use horseradish sauce and mayo or atkins bbq sauce just so i dont get sick of eating meat everday?

I season my meat differently depending on what I am making.

Usually I stick to different spice rubs. Sometimes I enjoy it plain.

I also use different marinades. I will start it the night before or early in the morning and then make it in the evening.

I eat mayo with my burgers sometimes or a mustard mayo combo. I have yet to try any type of bbq sauce since starting this woe.

I do have a hickory rub but I never liked the flavor of it.

I never ruin the good flavor of a steak with a "sauce" I dry rub the steak with a sprinkle of lawrys seasoning salt, fresh ground black pepper, a dash of garlic salt, and some crushed red pepper. Comes out wonderful.

For burgers I use some mustard, mayo or some hot sauce. Or sometimes all three! To me ground beef is the only kind of meat that actually needs some "flavor" added to it......everything else is perfect plain to me.

I love the taste of meat. I could eat ribs without a speck of sauce. The only time I use a condiment is on a sandwich ( lc bread of course ) and that is generally mayo but I also like horse radish sauce. Meat is what attracted me to this diet. But I did not increase my intake of meat, I just lowered my intake of carbs.

I agree, I love the taste of meat. I very rarely use any kind of sauces, I do make up my own marinades though for the barbecue (what a great wol this is!). Some of my favourites include rubbing olive oil, and a mixture of pounded fresh garlic and rosemary into lamb. The aroma when it is cooking is truly divine. Also soy sauce (LC) and ginger for chicken, or a small amount of yoghurt (carbs thinned down with a little cream) with lime juice and chilli powder to taste. These all help the meats juices and tenderise them, so it isnt as dry. A dash of mustard is great but just a splash of basic fresh ground pepper (mixed peppercorns are fabby) just transforms the dullest of meats! Enjoy.

The only meat I put condiments on is my Hamburger. I put a drip of mustard and a drip of ketchup, (I know but I only put a really small drip of it) and I put lettuce and tomato and like 5 pieces of chopped onion and pickle. THe other meats I like plain.

Rather than using condiments - i tend to marinate meats - less sugar and more flavours!

I found a really good one by Knorr 30 Minute Marinades - Smokehouse Mesquite with lime juice which has only 1.2g per tbs, but generally i make my own with whatever i have lying around and some olive oil.

When there isn't time to marinate, I sometimes use 0 or lc salad dressings as a dipping sauce for chicken and shrimp and even over a burger.

I don't use many, but I'll sometimes put mustard on a burger.

When I'm eating a roast, or cut of beef that seems a bit dry to me, I'll eat each bite with a bit of creamy mashed cauliflower - tastes great together. I also sometimes make LC gravy for my Sunday roast dinner

Generally, though, I just season the meat before cooking - pepper & spices depending on the meat.

I use horseradish sauce with a little heavy cream, & salad dressing. I use mayo and lc ketchup on my burgers. With steak I prefer nothing at all. There are some great cooks on this forum. Look in recipe section. There may be a few more options there. Good luck

I like to use no-salt Lemon Pepper seasoning on chicken (good for fish and veggies too)--it's really, really good!

Also, marinade in Italian salad dressing or Newman's Own oil and vinegar.

For pork (could work for steak and chicken, too) I roast in a combination of olive oil, vinegar, garlic powder and 1/2 a packet of splenda. Beef OXO (bouillon) is good, too.

Ummm, worcestershire sauce is great for frying, marinating, roasting beef.

N.

I for one didn't think I could EVER live without ketshup! Went cold turkey for 3 weeks...found the Atkins ketshup yesterday at the store...YIPPEE!! Put just a dab on my burger last night and was in heaven - THANK GOD FOR LO-CARB KETSHUP - although I will probably still only use it on a burger it is nice to know I am no longer feeling deprived!

When Heinz's lc ketchup comes out, I will look into this.

Currently, it's mayo and mustard on a burger.
