Thanks to you all for the pep talk on water today. I have been much more conscious of what I am drinking today and will keep on it again tomorrow.

GOOD NEWS - my back today is feeling much better. I tried a couple of new yoga stretches that were featured in the paper and I think its helped keep the "kinks" out!

Don't forget to warm up before you exercise!! (something I am guilty of!) I think it really does make a difference.

Hey, room for another??

My body's been craving activity lately, and I think a nice brisk walk in the mornings may be just what I need. I have my watch & pedometer ready to go for tomorrow morning.

Bit of a late start, but I should be able to make my 3 sessions this week. Sounds like fun!

Teresa, is this 10K walk a Vancouver thing? I'm from Vancouver as well, and vaguely recall hearing something about it on the radio. Just curious Thanks for all the organizing!

Well I jumped in and did my first session this morning. 25 minutes of brisk walk, with slower walking and stretching before and after to warm up/cool down.

Confession: it was *really* hard to get started this morning That's always been my weakness with exercising - the actual get up and go. So this morning when I woke up and didn't want to go, I told myself to at least get up and go lie on the couch. Once I was in the living room, I figured I'd change into my track suit, and then lay down... I kept talking myself through the steps, and ended up out the door I had laid everything I'd need out the night before so I couldn't use that for an excuse.

Feeling great afterwards... a much more energetic and alert start to my day than usual. Yay

I always do good on the water front - probably 5+ L a day almost every day, but I need a new water bottle. Been re-using disposable bottles, but after all the stuff in the media, it's probably time for me to get a real waterbottle. Not a fan of those sport type though... thinking more something from Mtn Equip Coop. Plan for the weekend

1 down, 2 to go this week!

Wynter

Hi Wynter

Welcome. I must confess that I have been lurking in you journal for quite a while. Love the recipes you post. I'm glad you have joined our little group.

I know what you mean about getting motivated. I've come home from work, changed into my workout stuff and then glued myself to the couch for the rest of the evening. Such a waste! Glad you ended up "out the door".

Cheers

Kelly

I am going to try and get out for # 3 walk today....my PC crashed last night (I think its a bad virus or spyware problem) and I had some work that I just had to get done before this morning...so I spent the night at a friends banging away to get it done!! Needless to say I don't have any computer access at HOME! where I do all of my good chatting ...so you may not see much of me over the weekend while I try and get this fixed!!

Don't forget WEEK 2 begins on SUNDAY JAN 25th!

Hey Teresa

I picked up yet another pedometer and this one seems to work the best for me. It's called Sportline and I got it at Wal-Mart for about 18$.The thing I like most about it is the buttons are covered. All the other models are easily reset if you bend over....Really disappointing to come back from a long walk to have it say you only did 10 steps.

Kelly - saw your post on the TDC challenge thread. Thanks! I'll look for one this weekend....BTW does pedometer have to go on waist? I think I saw one for your shoe?
