Default New LOW CARB LIVING magazine

I just bought the premier issue of LOW CARB LIVING magazine at the grocery store today. Some of the articles are: Low Carb Gourmet, Atkins vs South Beach, Success Stories,Eating Out the Low Carb Way, Carb Addiction and lots more. It is a beautiful full color magazine with lots of ads for low carb products.
I think I am going to subscribe to it. The price is $3.99.

There is another LC magazine coming to the market in June. You can download a sample copy to Acrobat Reader before you decide to subscribe.

Thanks for the info. I may have to try both! You never know if a magazine's recipes are trustworthy and generally to your taste until you try a few issues. I am so tired of always adapting recipes it would be fun to have a magazine arrive "ready to use".

I've seen it as well (the Low Carb Living mag), unfortunately it's quite a bit more here in Canada. I may still pick it up though. Thanks for the info Fluffybear and Becki!

I thought this magazine was complete crap. I am so sorry I wasted my money on it. I am on Atkins and the mag's constant chatter about the "right" fats - vegetable fats and unsaturated anything got annoying, too many ads for fake foods, relatively high-carb recipes.

I might have enjoyed an Atkins magazine, but it just seemed that this one is trying to be all things to all low-carbers and low-calorie/low-fat readers too.

I'm kind of with girly girl. I have bought two issues of the magazine, and most of the articles did not seem relevant to me. Also, as the writer of a newsletter and various other publications for school teachers, I'm very cognizant of grammatical and punctuation errors, and this magazine was full of them. I just felt that a professional publication should have better editors.

I'm a magazine junkie so of course I picked this one up and I was HUGELY disappointed, like some of you who posted already. To those of you who did buy it, did you read the letters section and how they had to retract some things they'd said or things they'd stated inaccurately. I can't recall the exact comments at the moment, but it unbelievable. Someone even wrote in to say [I'm paraphrasing] "your recipe for X looked wonderful, but did you realize that X was an endangered species and you should be discouraging people from consuming this?" LOL!!

I noticed many errors throughout as well and I kept reading them out to DH. He was laughing and shaking his head with me! Also, there was one article where it seemed as though they didn't complete their thought. They sort of stopped mid-paragraph. I wish I had it in front of me to remind myself what it was. It was bizarre. I thought it was very poorly done. What a shame really. I won't waste my money on that one again.

Lily

I went to the sheknows.com link 4bean4me posted, and it looks like it might be a quality magazine with viable information. I may actually subscribe to it.
