Default Cotton Mouth

I am on day five of induction and for the past 2 days I have had THE worste cotton mouth and I can't seem to rid myself of it.. Never had this problem before, is it something that is common with Atkins? I am not really eating anything new and I am drinking more water than ever!

if you have significantly increased your water intake, i would guess that it is your body's natural thirst response coming back and your sensitivity to it increasing. how much salt are you getting? that could be an issue too.

I agree with curly. When I started drinking more water, I found that it was never enough! I constantly had cotton mouth and just figured it was my body's way of saying "Hey! All this water is great! Keep it coming!"

Now I keep a bottle of water at my desk at all times.

You know, I thought it HAD to be the water because thats the only thing I have changed - is the more water intake...LOL but it seemed a funny thought that drinking MORE water would make your mouth so dry!!

Yep. I had it, too. I work in a really "dry" building, too, so that doesn't help much!

I too had cotton mouth, now I just chug and chug the water. I sure can tell if I have days that are lacking H2o.

And if I'm not mistaken, it's a sign of ketosis!
