Talking Need tips!

Hi everyone! OK... I need any tips you all might have. I got engaged on Christmas Eve and am getting married in June... and I I want to look GOOD! My goal is to be able to wear a bikini to Hawaii for our honeymoon and not feel like a cow in it.

Any tips on how to get down to business? (Things that have made a difference for you, etc.)?

Weight training really helps tone your muscles. Doesn't have to be heavy duty.
Check out "Body for Life". It gives you good info on toning and which excersizes to do for what you are trying to achieve.
Congrats!

Hi Tangie!

At your current weight and height, you're already well within a healthy range. If you still feel a bit "jiggly", then toning is probably what you need before weight loss. When you build muscle to replace fat, you may find that you are smaller and look slimmer even at your current weight or even a few pounds more.
I agree with Judi...check into some weight resistance programs and congrats on your engagement!

Thank you both for your replies! OK... here's how my body appears to me. I am at the weight I am happy with, but yes, I feel very jiggly and have a yucky layer of fat over my tummy that won't seem to budge. So with that in mind, resistance training is probably the way to go, right? Or cardio? I know resistance training is always a good idea, but I want to get the most bang for my buck and get it done! Thank you!!!! Have a good day.

Check out body for life. If you follow the exercise plan you can really tone up, build lean mass, and get a sleek look. Throw out your scale as you ar elikely to gain muscle mass and wills tay the same weight or even go up a bit while losing fat.

For diet. Get rid of all junk foods. I don't think you need to do a full induction unless you have sever cravings. Atkins for life suggests when you just have a few pounds to lose to cut back to 60g carbs a day to start.

Eat whole natural foods. No bars, SF candies, processed foods and so on. Instead have eggs, meat tons and tons of veggies, and fats.

For ab fat start doing Pilates. You will be amazed at the difference in strength after a week or so. Also check out Ab Boot Camp in conjunction with body for life. It is an intense program you would do 3 times a week after your cardio to really strngthen and tone the abs. There is information about it in the BFL forums on here.

I agree-Pilates are great and will really target those supporting muscles other types of exercise don't in order to get you into bikini shape. With only a few pounds to go and five months to do it there's nothing stopping you. Happy hunnymoon!
