You must be thinking that I'm crazy - why be so happy about being moderately overweight? On December 18th I weighed 197 lbs and was considered "obese" now I'm at 174 and considered to be moderately overweight. I'm excited. Next comes slightly overweight and then a healthy weight (for life)!

Default Good for you!

Steff

I'm sure no one thinks you are crazy! I know that I have often felt the way you feel, like "anyone in their right mind would never see THIS as a milestone" (substitute any number of things for THIS)...but way to go. The most important thing is that you see it as something to be proud of, and you are right it is.

Amazing what a few words can do to a person. I remember seeing a doctor when I was first pregnant and reading as he wrote on my chart, "++obese". That was a lovely feeling, especially on my first visit of my pregnancy, when I knew darn well the "++" was likely to turn into a few more +'s by the end of 9 months!

I will leap with joy the day I am only, "moderately obese" and I celebrate with you today! Congratuations, here's to just being plain old "obese" someday....

Mari

Default OH I look forward to that day...

Good going...
Those things like that are really big goals of mine... That isn't funny at all... it is exciting... I am just looking forward to getting under 200 lbs... about 6 to 8 lbs left, depending on when I weigh myself... LOL
Good Job...

I definitly understand, same was becoming obese, if you were classified as morbidly obese! Congrats, and way to go!

Yahooo Steff!
Im totally with you and understand where you are coming from!

I'll never forget the day I was reading my medical chart in the doctors office and seen that he had written that I was MORBIDLY OBESE! I just sat there totally humilated and embarrassed, so when I started those name step stones down I was elated as well!

Lightbulb on being obese

I hear ya. I still refer to myself as obese, I guess I never really classifed it as mild or morbid.

Enjoy yourself Steff, at every stage. Don't let the charts and labels define you. Your body will let you know when you've reached that Healthy Weight ... and it will feel GREAT ..

Doreen
