Default My C2 review and C3 hopes

I must admit that I'm a little disappointed with my C2 results. Through no fault of BFL, I think I made a number of mistakes. For one thing I started at very high weights and I think I discouraged myself. I lost motivation only a few weeks into it and stopped for two weeks. Then when I started again I was still not eating right for probably another month. It was really only in the last month that I was happy with what I was doing both in and out of the gym.

I’m glad that I got really good results from my first challenge, or I might have blamed BFL and thought that it just wasn’t doable for me. But I know that that is NOT true. I know I can do this because I did it in C1 and I’m going to do it again in C3.

I plan on starting C3 on Monday, January 6th. Until then I’m just going to go to the gym and “fool around” and do whatever I feel like doing that day. Then when I start C3 I’m going to buckle down and give it all I’ve got for those 12 weeks. I think I’ll start with weights slightly lower than where I left off in C2.

I will also set more firm goals for C3. For one, I’ll be going back to my C1 goal of not missing a workout. I’m also going to set other firmer goals of body fat % that I want to hit by certain times. I haven’t figured out what these are goals are yet because I’m not sure what I can realistically hope to achieve. The way I measure shows me at about 21% now and I think I’d like to hit 10% at some time. But maybe 15% would be a more realistic goal over 3 months. Of course I’d hope to do this without loosing muscle in the process.

I can’t wait to get back to the gym next week.

Thanks Cindy and Piano,

Even though my measurements didn't change. I'm still glad I did it. I know I feel sooooo much better when working out.

I agree 21% body fat isn't bad. If I never lost another ounce of fat I'd be happy to stay right where I am. But hey, now that I'm armed with the tools to get lean and strong, I'm going for it.

Hi Arnie:

Good going on completing C2. Although you may be disappointed, what's important is that you still finished the challenge and you're geared for your next one. That is sooooo good. You should be proud.

I've been playing around lately with my program and I kinda like the lack of structure for now. I think you'll enjoy it too.

Looks like January 6th is C-day for lots of us. That'll be good.

Congratulations on completing yet another challenge. That is very impressive. When I first did BFL a few years ago I couldn't even finish the challenge.

Even if you are not completely satisfied with the results of the latest challenge you should be proud to have come as far as you have. It helps to see people who are successful with the same things you are striving for. Good motivation.

Keep up the good work
Clive

Hi Wanda and Clive,

You guys are right it is a very good thing to have completed a challenge. I know that I'm healthier for it and I'm glad I did it.

Wanda, I'm already lovin' the lack of structure. I'm just doing whatever pleases me at the moment and I've got to tell you that it's making for some very sore muscles. I'm hitting a lot of muscles that have not been directly targeted in BFL, like forarms, hip abductors, the front of my shins. But I know that in a few weeks I'll be ready to get back to a hardcore BFL challenge.

It'll be fun to have a bunch of us starting at the same time. Maybe we should announce the start of a BFL challenge on January 6th in some other forums. I know anybody can start a challenge anytime they like, but it might help to motivate someone if they know they are getting into it with a bunch of people. It'll also give time to pick up the book and have a read through.

I guess it would be considered off topic in other forums except maybe the general exercise forum, and hey, isn't there a forum specifically for challenges? Or is this a goofy idea?

Hi Arnie:

I think it's a great idea to post under "Challenges" and/or the "Exercise Forum". The more the merrier. There are lots of people that do BFL around here that don't come to the BFL forum so maybe it will entice them to join in (as well as lots of newbies).
