Default Worried.... is this unusual?

I know I may be worried about nothing, particularly since my starting weight is so high, but I lost 9.2 lbs since last Friday. That really is quite a bit and way, way above the recommended losing rate.

So, is this a problem at all? I've been eating roughly the same thing since I started this WOL:

Breakfast
3 egg omelette w/ 1/4 cup mozzarella
1 tbs unsalted butter
4 slices bacon

Lunch
6 oz baked chicken
2 tbs mayonnaise
Caesar salad

Dinner
Steak, fish, or chicken
Usually mayonnaise to up fat content
salad or veggies

In fact, it got to the point where I stopped entering my foods into fitday because I was eating the SAME exact thing nearly every day. I know that I eat the correct ratio of fat:protein:carbs at ~70%:~25%:~5% and I get between 1800 - 2300 calories per day depending on the main staple of my dinner.

Here are the things I've done differently this week:
- Working out religiously
- Got a job that involves standing and moving 4-8 hours per day

So, the main question is: Should I be worried?

First: kiss the whoosh fairie on the lips!

Second: Remember this all those weeks when you are on a major stall.

Third: I am not a doctor BUT I would think the body just kicked in with all things good for you this week.

Thanks for the quick response, MrE. I weighed myself 5 times this morning because I couldn't believe what I saw.

what me worry???????????

sounds like a reason to rejoice to me! also if i could just piggyback on what MrE said...bottle up this feeling and save it for when the whoosh fairy is not so kind when you are doing everything right but the scale is just not registering your goodness.

Congratulations on your gangbuster success thus far!!!!

Haha! Ok then, I'll remember this for when I'm not losing despite "doing everything right."

Thanks much. I feel better now.

I second what everyone else said -- I wouldn't worry, it sounds like you are eating a very healthy diet. Just remember to average your weight loss out over the month and over three months. You may lose very rapidly for a while -- 20 pounds or so in a month -- and then nothing for another month or six weeks. Your average rate of loss per month would still be high if that happened. It's almost inevitable that after a whoosh you will go through a period where you don't lose for a while; your body needs to adjust to the new weight.

Just wanted to add: if you are feeling WELL and are not fatigued nor dizzy, light-headed nor weak, then you should be alright.

If any of those things occurs, eat some more carbs from the Induction List. Especially if you are exercising, you may need more carbs.

I doubt that the losing will continue at this rate but I am pretty sure Atkins addresses this in his book.

Sounds like the Whoosh fairy is paying a visit! I agree with everyone else - if your feeling great, don't worry, and enjoy the whoosh!

He could you do me a favor if you see the fairy? Tell her it wasn't very nice of her to come to my house and visit my husband, instead of me! Hopefully she decided to come back and pay me a visit.

Congratulations on your wonderful progress!!

Thanks for the support, everyone. It was a great feeling seeing the scale go down that much, but then the worry part of my brain ticked on saying, "Wait, you're only supposed to lose 1-3 lbs per week to be healthy while losing weight."

Just something that has been instilled in me for a long time.

Thanks again all.
