Default Panera going low-carb?

My mom sent me an article from the Indianapolis Star about bakeries vs. the LC movement... the last paragraph was:

"Panera Bread, a fast-growing chain that offers soups, salads and sandwiches in addition to bread, also is making changes to meet the evolving tastes of its customers. The company is testing three whole-grain breads with fewer grams of carbohydrates per slice. "Our view of it is not to resist (the low-carb trend) but to recognize it as a real niche," CEO Ron Shaich said."

Panerra is one of our favorite places to go. Several of their soups are low in carbs. We usually have soup and salad, no bread or croutons (make sure you have them droped from the onion soup also). Don't even miss the bread.

Wonderful place to go on a cold day!

Panera used to be one of my favorite places. I loved their pastries!
They just opened one on our neighborhood, so I would love to be able to go there often. But, we went yesterday and I starved. I asked for 1/2 the chicken salad (no bread) and 1/2 a cesar salad. We insisted on no bread, the bread was all over, in the sandwich and the extra one that comes with the meal. By the time I took all that bread out of the tray, there was the equivalent of a soup spoon of chicken salad and some lettuce with dressing.
Please let me know which are the LC items on their menu.
Thanks!
