Well I have actually lost one pound in two weeks--I wanted to see something amazing on the scale today but no such luck. Yet I do feel rather good. Sugar free and fancy free! I am on my way to teach a dance to my son's third grade class. I have been getting a little extra exercise as choreographer for the holiday school play: An ELFIS In personator! Yes an Elvis-like elf shows up in the North pole--pretty silly stuff but fun. Exercise is a challenge --finding the time w/ work, two kids and husband, church and life, life, life. But what a great gift it is to be able to move--we'll miss if if we ever get very old or sick. Our bodies are blessings so lets get out there and boogie. Gotta go! Ciao for now. Also let a Pilates video out and miss it. They are great -- one work out and you can feel it in the abs!

Well sure....its Monday...and I show 2 pds more.

Was sick Friday and Saturday and hadn't worked out because of it. So am hoping it will settle back down to 169.
I knew I wouldn't be making those decisions of how much how fast.
Being sick I wasn't eating much at all to write about....so its all a defense mechanism my body instills on me.
The emotional stress right now won't help that either. Son may be going
'active' real soon is all I can say.

Hi Everybody and Hi Rachelle--

I liked reading about your active lifestyle and the fact that you do not have to exercise that much. It reminded me of a middle aged mom talking to her teenage daughter because the girl was taking too long to get ready to go out to dinner. The girl said she needed time to do her make and the mom quipped, "girl, your 17--God does your make up!" That is sort of what 23 was for me--God kept me toned and perky. Lately at age 35--the Big Guy can't do too much for me! LOL--It is move my toosh or watch it side to the ground! Let us not even go into leg giggle--My sisters and I just lament the fact that our genes ain't helpin. We are three sisters and although we are all tall and rather sturdy builds-- we look pretty good in clothes. Yet all it takes is a trip to the beach to see who has been lifting some weights, walking, yoga-ing or NOT. I love the encouragement to exercise on challenge. God bless you all who do not have to exercise--that's super to just be active and thanks to all of you who inspire me to "move it!"

Ricky--
I hear you about the drive thrus--It is tough for me when I go home on holidays to the states--The temptation is greater in my good ole US of A. Land of the Supersizer! I love my home country but the food is nuts! Yet here in Venezuela sometimes I miss the convenience--also Latins might be the only people on earth who would seriously serve rice n'beans, potatoes, corn and bread at one sitting! Cookoo!

Heather--- Thank you so much for your thoughts and of course prayers...we are all gonna need them here.
There in all 6 kids who had joined the guards and although my son was already active once before he only went to training for 3 months in March, the others were still in Basics at that time. Now they are all being called to be fillers for another Battallion and that really sucks, exc. my language. Not to even be able to stay with their own unit isn't very comforting.
We are awaiting further word. Until they will be processing on Saturday (paper work etc. ) Who knows how it will all proceed from there. We are hearing no training, but shipped riight away and 18 months.
Still we have to wait for the official words.
Thanks agaiin for your support.

Thank you ricky.

I know for sure all prayers and thoughts are appreciated by all our guys, here and everywhere in this world. We have had a big yellow ribbon up from day one, it is fading badly, and another for each of those leaving from this town will join that one and hopefully not stay up there for too long.
Thanks again.

Hi Petcrazed,

Just wanted to thank you for flying that Flag proudly. Ever since my husband joined the Air Force, I've become more sentimental toward gestures like yours.

God Bless you and our military.

Lily

Deshukel --
Welcome--I can relate to the off and on thing. Thanks for sharing about your 10 lb gain while off. It is a good reminder that lowcarbing works!
I encourage you to jump aboard and read up. It is great fun to read about other people's struggles and triumphs. I have also been inspired by others' umph when I have had little.

Hey Bubu--
Just sending you out a cyber smile and encouragement to be good to yourself, even while you are feeling stressed. It has been neat to see all the support here. Have a great day and thanks to your son for his willingness to serve. People often say that our country's youth is a selfish generation, but just look at the sacrifices they are making for us. Selfish?--Hogwash!

Hey all-- I have not seen the numbers change too much--still 170, but I feel better. My clothes are hanging nicer, I am sleeping like a baby, my mood is positive towards my hubby (he is always the poor victim of my moody blood sugar hi's and lo's) and I have energy. I cut and highlighted my hair too. I am looking to give myself little non-food-related perks.
I have some Tai-Bo tapes that I am dusting off and using to vary my exercise. I lent out a Pilates tape to my boss and want it back! Considering she signs my check, I will not take it back so abruptly.

Onward and downward, people!
