Default How Much Fat in the diet?

How much "new" fat should be in one's diet? Meaning not the fat the seems to be bungie jumping over my belt. Just the fat intake in my diet.

I understand that whole fat vs carb burning deal but never have grasped the totals required and what is good, and what is bad.

I guess I need to re-read the book and take notes or something....

Yesterday:
Fat - 63%
Protein - 35%
Carbs - 2%

Looks like my protein was at 35% yesterday. Could that explain why I am just staying where I am? Or could that be explained with the sunspot activity?

I vote for the Sun Spots...

Every one is different. You will have to play with the fat levels to see what is a good amount for you. Also how many calories are you consuming, ghow many carbs and how much fiber?

You won't lose everyday on this WOE. In fact there can be times you gain. Your body needs to take small breaks while it tests you to see if you are really sticking to this, or if there will be a famine coming up. If you stick to it and plug through, making small alterations when needed, the weight does come off.

I might just grab a fork and eat a stick of butter or something........

I have found I think about what I am gonna eat all the time, instead of just grabbing the nearest thing and stuffing it in my face.

Of course the idea of eating to lose weight is as foreign as the Governor of California.....

Yesterday I read something that said you should keep your calorie count around the calories burned for your basal metabolism. I don't know if that's true, but it sounds plausible and makes sense.

As far as fat, I've found I do better at the 60-65% mark, but my friend is doing this with me and she does better at the 70% mark. I have a lot of muscle on my frame, so it's possible I need the extra protein. She's 30 lbs. lighter than me and 3" shorter, so she probably needs more of the fat.

Sorry, I guess that wasn't really helpful except to say that everybody is different!
Take care,
Bonnie
